Costume Length?

• Costumes may not reach or drag on the ground. (e.g. full-length Princess dresses)

But there is no clarification on how far off the ground my dress should be. I don't want to get there and find out that CMs are told that dresses need to be 6 inches from the ground and mine less and be told I cannot enter.

Does anyone know more about this?

Most rules are at the cm's discretion, I've warn capes in prior years when it said no dragging capes that were almost ground level. I think they mean train like lengths were people could trip or you could get it caught on a ride.

As long as it's not touching the ground at all, per the rule, you should be fine.

I think the stated rule is pretty clear - if it touches the ground it's not okay; if it doesn't, it's fine.

On a side note to who it may concern, the rules for capes has been one of their big changes:

• Capes may be worn if the length does not go below the waist.

This could change a costume drastically so factor it in.

Sure, as long as it doesn't touch the ground while you're walking or standing.

I would stand tall all day, if I were you.

If you slouch even a little bit, it will on the ground.

If it's 1cm off the ground, it's not reaching or touching the ground, so you should be okay. Don't slouch though, because you might get yourself in hot water. Personally, I'd err on the side of caution and go with slightly above the ankles, just to remove any doubts.

I was just saying 1cm as an example. I have no idea how close to the ground it will be yet. It is at the alterations place being made. I guess it if touches the ground then it will have to be temporarily hemmed. Thank you.
