Costs on activities page

I just booked my activities (yay!) and I see the prices on my plans page. Can anyone tell me if the prices for the rainforest room, tastings and excursions include any automatic tips or will that show up after we do the activity? Second question, we have 2 rooms. Do they split everything based on who is in what room or can I have it all charged to one? Can I see both folios if the accounts are linked?

So. I think tips are included for tastings as I've never been given a tip slip at them...and am too tipsy to think about it myself. 😂 The price shown is what I paid. Never done any spa treatments, so don't know about that. Excursions, it's at your own discretion whether you tip the guides/drivers, and generally just cash.

I am drawing a blank on the spa. Did two separate cruise companies this summer. I think DCL shows it on the receipt you sign, so it's pretty much automatically included, maybe. They still make you sign a receipt. The gratuity is 18%.

Ok thanks. If I book something like an excursion or tasing for people in 2 different rooms, how does it get charged? Does it get split between the rooms?

Charges will show on the room's account by person. You can set your credit card to pay for both staterooms if you wish. If you have access to the other stateroom's log-in, you can see their charges, or have someone in that room request a print-out for you.

Ok so if 2 people from each room do n excursion, each room will be chrged for 2 people. I'm trying to make sure the OBC is used for both rooms.

Unless you pre-paid your gratuities, those also get applied to the stateroom account.

We have sometimes - though not always - got a form to sign. IIRC, the usual auto gratuity of 18% is included, but you can also add an additional tip, which we've sometimes done if the session was particularly good.

Is this the situation: Are you hoping to use an OBC (assigned to Cabin A) to cover activities for both Cabins?

Not exactly. OBC will be on both rooms but since I booked for both rooms, I wanted to make sure that the charges are split and not all on the bookers (me) room. We are doing quite a few things and the OBC is split to cover that but if everything ends up on one room I could fix it now but would be a pain on board.

Just an FYI- They are now giving out tips slips at the tasting sessions. I was quite surprised this summer by this as I had not tipped previously for this either. Like you, I assumed it was included.

And it wasn’t per room, they were given out per person. So me and my husband had to keep consulting who was going to do one combined tip or have both do a tip 😆.

I just did one in mid November for Mixology on the Dream- no tip slip given.

Nice! Though the staff work hard and deserve, I did not enjoy getting so many presented to me throughout the cruise. I would rather it all be included in the orginal fee as I make better financial decisions without alcohol in my system 🤣.

And I stand corrected, it was our spring break cruise on the Magic. We did not do any tastings on our summer trip. Hopefully there is consistency across the ships.

Even though this wasn’t the OP’s situation, could you explain how this would work? We have our first cruise coming up this summer and will have OBC spread across 5 different rooms, and some room members will likely not use their allocated OBC while others will go over. So ideally I’d like to just apply the entire OBC amount across our entire party.

I wasn’t ignoring your question, I went cruising and just logged in again when i saw the info about CC status dropping off If you have a long gap in cruising (5 years).

I could finagle it by having charges for a couple of rooms all going to cabin X and/or Y, Z… - and then reverting to being responsible for each cabin separately when reaching the OBC $ amount. The typical vacationer would probably think that’s too much work.

Otherwise, use it to pay gratuities (but so many people pay that pre-cruise when booking); otherwise that could be a great use of it if allowed under the terms of your OBC.

If doing specialty dining or buying drinks, I think you can charge multiple people‘s tabs in one stateroom card (would want to verify by someone who actually pays for these and for more than one person).

Same for the Magic in October, but when we were on the WISH they did hand out tabs to be signed earlier this year. So it may depend on the bartender or ship. The tip is included, but as with all bar tabs you can increase the gratuity.
