I am STILL hoping against hope that I can make it to WDW this year. But I will need to do much more saving than I had originally thought. We're talking about thousands here, just on one vacation.

Meanwhile, for a fraction of the price, I can go to La Manga Club in Spain for a week. Flights to Spain? One-fifth. Weather in Spain this spring? Very pleasant, not overbearing, not cold. Price of transportation? Free in Spain - the resort lays on a free taxi. Accommodation? About 1/3 the price of a basic hotel in Florida, and you get a penthouse suite overlooking the sea. Sports facilities? Spain wins again - tonnes of indoor and outdoor pools, tennis courts, cricket, football, a gorgeous award winning golf course… Restaurants? Less in Spain, but about half the price and IMO, better. No park tickets to buy. No crowds. Free spa at your fingertips. Private beach at La Manga. Gorgeous local cuisine. Close to the Mar Manor and authentic Spanish villages for a real local experience.

So Spain, for a week, in high season, is more pleasant to stay in, cheaper to stay in and get to, is prettier and more.

But… it's not WDW :(

We are crying about our Canadian dollar right now. We were going to go to WDW before our cruise but thinking of canceling it now. Going end of January, cruise is paid for already for February.

One time, many moons ago, our Canadian dollar was at 0.65. Probably should have cancelled but didn't. We didn't buy much more than food. Still had a great time but would never do that again. It cost us a fortune. Just like even thinking of going these days, I look at airfare, hotels, entrance passes, food, Canadian dollar and then think, maybe next year.
