Costco's sheet cake (update Mon. 6/9)

Bought one decorated like that and yes, the predecorated squares looked small but were plenty for one person. That cake is AMAZING and even better frozen!

Our have never made it long enough to be frozen but that is a good idea! Now I'm craving Costco cake.

A full sheet cake is 18" X 24". Thats 48 3" X 3" slices which is a pretty healthy slice. I'd say there should be plenty for 40 people.

I actually look for occasions/excuses to buy a Costco sheet cake for. It's better than any store bought or bakery cake I've had.

I wish we had a Costco near us, I want this cake! lol

We usually get our cakes at Wegmans, it's $18 for a quarter sheet cake and it's only about an inch and a half thick for the basic cakes. It's tastes good, but it's kind of a rip off IMO

Why look for an excuse or reason? Buy it for yourself and enjoy. Eat some and freeze the rest for later.

This thread is making me want a big slice of chocolate cake!:hyper:

I don't mean to take this thread off track, but does anyone know if Sam's Club cakes are about the same as Costco's cakes? I have a membership at Sam's, not Costco. We're having a big family reunion this July and part of the reunion includes an 80th birthday celebration, so we're looking for a place to get a couple of sheet cakes. Not sure why, but I never thought to look at Sam's Club.

I don't think the pieces will be too small. The cake is very rich. How big of a serving were you thinking of?

Luvflorida, I don't have a Sam's membership. Hopefully someone here can tell you if their sheet cakes can feed about 40 people like Costco's does.

I've not had Costco sheet cake but we got a sheet cake from Sams last year for DDs bday. It was excellent! We didn't do a special order, just grabbed one from the cooler and has them write on it. We had about 35 people and had almost half the cake left. It was $18.

I've only had 1 Costco cake, but we've had multiple at work functions from Sams and BJs. They're all similar, at least I think so.

I was a member with Costco before we moved to where I live now ,where there is no Costco so we had to joins Sam's club. I find the cake lacking compared to Costco....I miss Costco..

I joined Sam's Club about 7 or 8 years ago because Sam's Club just opened and it was closer then the Costco, so I let my Costco membership lapse.

I found the Sam's Club cakes a bit more expensive and smaller then Costco's. I don't remember if the taste was different or not.
