Staying offsite at a VRBO for 16 days from mid Aug to the end of the month and want to know where to best buy groceries. Hopefully only going to shop once for all amenities. Meats, dairy, veggies, etc. We are typically Costco shoppers here at home, but looking at all factors, price, quality, quantities, etc.

I like going to the Super Target in Kissimmee (on Irlo Bronson Memorial) as its nicer and less insane than the Walmarts. Also they have a great Disney section in the front and of course a wide variety of everything. As far as sales, the Publix is normally great on sales and you can keep an eye at iheartpublix.com and the likes before you go and they might have coupons and so forth as between BOGOs and coupons (you can use one manf and one store for each item even bogos, so you can use 4 coupons on bogos if you can). I LOVE Publix but its just a grocery but they make a outstanding sub and just a great store in general.

Another big factor is where is your hotel/resort? Because closer might always be a better option with the crazy traffic in some areas.

A lot depends on where your VRBO is located. Costco isn't likely to provide you with everything you need, and quantities are large so you may have lots leftover. We do the vast majority of our groceries at Publix (several in the Disney area), with some supplemental stuff from Target/Wal-Mart. We prefer a good full-service grocery store though and aren't overly concerned about getting the absolute best deal. You might save $10-15 on an order at the big box but I'm on vacation and not about to spend any time driving around chasing the best deal or wanting to make two stops when one will do. There are lots of locations for all three retailers, I would just Google map to find out what is nearby. We used to do Whole Foods (Sand Lake Rd) for DS food allergy (Celiac) but now Publix has as good or better selection of Gluten Free options for him.

I am going to second what others have said. There are a couple of Super Walmart's and Super Target's in the area. But for groceries I will also recommend Publix. They are everywhere. They also have a very good deli and bakery section.

That said we do frequent the Super Walmart on 27 just north of 192. And occasionally the Super Target in Posner Place on 27 just south of I-4. And depending on what direction we are coming we have the choice of two Publix.

If you let us know where you are staying we can give you more specific directions.

I go Costco and Publix. Maybe Super Walmart after that, but it depends on where you are staying. The one on Turkey Lake Rd is nice.

To give better advice as to where / which place to shop please give more Info.

Davenport is a huge postal code area .

So info like Hwy 27 or Hwy 192 will give us more ideas

Your best bet would be Publix ( Florida Natural Orange Juice ), Walmart , then Aldi & Target

We are staying off of W Irlo Bronson Memorial Hwy (192) and Old Vineland Rd.

Ahh... OK... I see two Walmart's, a Target, a Publix and an Aldi close to you. I don't think you'll have any trouble finding everything you need. We used the Super Walmart up on 535 when we were staying on site. It was always busy but we always found what we needed. I'll still suggest you check out Publix for the Deli and Bakery.

Have a magical trip.

We are going to Lakeshore Reserve in November, and this thread had me checking out close by options. I think the Walmart and Aldi on Orange Blossom trail will be a good option. Those might be a little far from you. We will likely hit Costco also since we can get some good breakfast options there and perhaps some good steaks.

If you're going for 16 days, you're probably best splitting up your shopping. Walmart for paper goods, park snacks, bottled waters, etc; Publix for things like lunch meat and produce and things. Publix is a great chain.

Walmart is also great for rafts and pool toys and towels for the kids too, as well as dish soap, detergent and the rest. I hate the Walmart's down there, but hard to beat the prices and the sheer all-in-one convenience.

I shop at a variety of places. I particularly like the Super Target on 192 near Orange Lake. I believe there is also another Super Target on 192 in the other direction as well. I find their prices to be reasonable, the store is bright and clean and is never crowded. I also shop at Publix. They are literally everywhere. But beware, depending on what part of the country you are from, you'll find their prices shocking.

I agree about the Walmart's in Florida. It doesn't matter what time of day you go, they are always slammed. We have been at 12:00am in the middle of the night and it was wall to wall people.
