Has anyone booked a trip for next year through Costco and gotten a rebate? I'm asking because there has been so much mention of the rebates, but when I booked I called them to compare and they were offering nothing. Just want to make sure it wasn't just about getting the wrong agent on the phone!:thumbsup2

I called them 2 weeks ago about booking our Viva Italia tour for next summer and was quoted a $700 CostCo card for each 2 person booking.

Since we don't live near a CostCo, I booked through someone else, but CostCo definitely had the lowest net price for the trip.

We booked through Costco. Call the ABD line through Costco initially. After that you can call ABD directly. You do get a rebate. We got a big chunk of money from our China trip. The money can only be used at Costco or Costco.com. I called Costco and asked if I could use the money for travel, but the answer was no. We have gotten our paperwork for next summer's trip with ABD through Costco and it says we will be getting a Costco cash card 4 to 6 weeks after returning from the trip. I don't know the amount. We were never given a specific number, it seems to be some mystery to anyone we ask, but we received $850 for 2 people traveling to China. We are 45 minutes from a Costco, so we will have a couple of big shopping sprees there in the next few months. We booked the trip with our Costco American Express Card and got back 2% of the total cost in regular cash. that applies to all travel. You also get money back on all other purchases. The only catch is you have to go to Costco to get the cash (or a check). For our family, it's worth the drive.

So I guess you can only use a debit or AmEx card only if booking through Costco?

You can use any card. I've booked through Costco the last two trips and I used my Disney Visa both times.

And you were able to use the 0% financing for 6 months?

Yes. Everything was generally the same as if I had called the ABD number rather than the Costco number. Only difference is they asked for my Costco membership number and told me how much the cash card would be.

That is pretty cool- we are getting a Costco in Wisconsin--can't remember where I read that and where it will be located though. I am pretty central, so it might be worth the membership price, even if I don't use it to go to the store!
