Just transfered my Easter 2006 to Cosco. Savings.....$1,100. Do you believe it!!!! They give the savings, unlike TA 's back to the member. If you do not have a costco in your area find one on-line, it is like a Sams club. Dues are $45 a year. It is well worth joining even if you do not have one in your state to get the savings.....

I just moved my Aug '06 ressies to Costco - saved $400! Hey, I'll take it!::yes:: pirate:

I transfered over a Cat. 3.... I was sooooo excited about the savings, if the costco agent was here I would have kissed him. I am just amazed at the savings!!!!!!!!!

I called Costo, they gave me a price with their discount of $700 more than I'm paying from DCL. But she did say she could call them while she had me on hold, and she could PROBABLY get me a cheaper prices than she had originally quoted me when she found out the breakdown of the charges. Unfortunately when she put me on hold to call Disney, they wouldn't give her any information. So in order to find out if they could save me any more money, I would have to transfer, so I wouldn't do that, seeing as the cruise is already through DCL $1500 more than what they charged me to book on board plus room credit as well. I don't think I'm going to find a cheaper price anywhere, but it was a great idea. Thanks and congrats on your good fortune.

Wow!! Excellent!!!!! I love the people over there too...I had one lady helping me for over an hour yesterday, she was so good (she had to help me with our RCCL cruise that we booked through them also). I'm a major bargain shopper, and haven't been able to find any TA with lower prices than Costco. :)

I am curious about something....

When we booked our upcoming cruise, I wanted to see about transferring it to Costco as I've heard what great prices they've had. I tried calling several times with "on hold" times of 30 minutes plus.

My question....once you've booked thorugh them and have a travel agent, then need to call back for ?'s or whatever, do you have to wait 30 minutes each time, or do you get a direct # to an agent to avoid this long wait?

You don't deal with one specific agent at CostCo. But, I want to add that I have NEVER had to wait more than 10 minutes to talk to an agent. Does it annoy me to wait that long? Sometimes, but the savings are worth it. Unless there are issues, you really aren't on the phone every other day with the TA, so the wait to me is not a big issue (and I am a VERY impatient person). I have the advantage of being at an office where I have a speaker phone and can just let it wait while I work.

When the agent is on the phone with you, you have their full attention and they will do anything to help you. They even went so far as to give me a $50 credit to my total owed for an onboard credit promotion that DCL would not honor.

The key is, when you call and they tell you a 30 minute wait, hang up and call back later. Don't try to call during lunch time (across all time zones), because you will definitely have to wait.

IMHO

Anyone have the number for Costco? I can't seem to find it on their web site

1-877-849-2730

Im on the phone with them right now to see what their prices are for a feb 2005 cruise and they are $200 cheeper for a cat 4 room than allseasons.. I didnt wait on hold at all.

What great savings. I would love to save 1100.00 on my cat 3 ressie for May 2006.

I am not sure about risking it if they cant give me a price w/o transferring over first.

Although I haven't done it, our friends transferred to Costco on both cruises. Don't get a quote from them as you already have a price and ressie. They give 10% for outside staterooms and 5% for inside, just for giving them the ressie and also you don't have to transfer it until you get much closer to the time of sailing.

When I transfered over to costco and saved $1,100, I must have asked both agents 10 times."I will be able to keep my cabin # 8534 mid ship Cat. 3." The phone call was a 3 way. The reservation # was transfered to Coscto. At any time they will 3 way again and I could transfer it back to DCL. I am cruising in Feb. and I will check to transfer back to get my 10% and $200 credit. But I am sure the price will have increased by then. and I would not save as much as I am now.

I'm going to check this out this morning. I'm looking at an 06 sailing so we'll see what happens!

I wonder if I can transfer my cruise next month to them and get a refund or something since its already paid in full.

Once you book with them you can just email them any questions you have, no need to sit on the phone. My last call I made to them, the wait was less than 3 minutes -- and I called around 11:00 a.m. I was expecting a longer wait, and to save hundreds believe me...I'll be patient! ;)

I have a few questions and anyone who can provide any info is appreciated.

Does it matter who you booked thru to call and transfer to them? I mean are there some TA's that will not let you transfer your res.?

Does your res. need to be paid in full?

Are the discounts different for 7/4/3 day cruises?

If you are transfering does it matter what the current price is? Won't they just give you the discount % for transferring the res. to them?

If their price is less, will they give you their price plus the discount % for transferring?

from my understanding, if you want to transfer your reservation over, you are stuck with the orig. price from DCL. If you want a whole new reservation you can do that but you will lose the credit. You have to weigh out the cost difference. I got a quote from DU that was almost $200.00 cheaper than the rebooking deal with DCL onboard, so it didn't matter what I did. Losing the $200 onboard credit vs. saving $200 off of the price. Sometimes one deal is better than the other. You have to do the math. (not sure if that was what you were asking though) Hope it helps.

You can only tranfer to them from DCL, not from another TA. All Costco does is not take ANY commission. They pass the savings onto the Costco member.

I booked another cruise through a TA and then wanted to transfer and they said they could not do it.

Our last cruise in 2002, I transferred reservation from Disney to Costco. We saved almost $500. I found that it was difficult getting to talk to an agent if you had any questions and they are not proficient or know very much about Disney. I placed a reservation on hold with Disney the other day, and then started calling around for price. I called costco again, DU, All Seasons and Dana at Cruiseplanners (1-800-385-8233). Costco was cheaper by 40 over Dana's price. When I told Dana, she researched it and came back to me with a price cheaper than Costco. I like the personal service and the knowledge of Disney she provides. She also has me waitlisted for a certain room that I want. I like knowing that I can call her up and ask for anything.

I called Costco twice today with no hold time AT ALL. The price for my 05 cruise was actually much higher than DU and All Seas BUT BUT BUT, the price for the 06 sailing was over 300.00 cheaper.
