Costco price rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our last cruise in 2002, I transferred reservation from Disney to Costco. We saved almost $500. I found that it was difficult getting to talk to an agent if you had any questions and they are not proficient or know very much about Disney. I placed a reservation on hold with Disney the other day, and then started calling around for price. I called costco again, DU, All Seasons and Dana at Cruiseplanners (1-800-385-8233). Costco was cheaper by 40 over Dana's price. When I told Dana, she researched it and came back to me with a price cheaper than Costco. I like the personal service and the knowledge of Disney she provides. She also has me waitlisted for a certain room that I want. I like knowing that I can call her up and ask for anything.

I have to agree about Dana! SHe is awesome and ALWAYS beats my lowest quote. Give her a call.

I have a cat 8 booked for $4200. About 4 months before I cruise I will tranfer the ressie to Costco and they will deduct 10% from that price AND I will still receive my $200 on board credit.

I apoligize for all the questions.

This may be a dumb question, but are the rates for DCL the same whether you book on board or not and the advantage for booking while onboard is the discount 10% (for 7 day) and room credit ($200 for 7 day)?

Does the discount and room credit apply regardless what category stateroom you have chosen?

And if booking on board and getting their discounts, you can then transfer it to Costco keeping your price booked thru DCL but also get a discount w/Costco for transferring to them? How do you keep the stateroom credit?

5boysplus:
How do you transfer back to DCL to get the 10% and $200 credit?

Let's say I have a cruise booked Jan 06 thru Costco and am also cruising prior to that, can I transfer it to DCL while on board and get 10% and $200 (for 7 day)? Again, does category matter other than cost, is the 10% for all cat?

I'm all confused if you can't tell.

Ok I think I understand your questions....I am cruising this November. I have already booked my May 2006 cruise, because the earlier you book, the more you save. While I am on board this Novmeber, I will put a quote request in for my May 06 cruise. IF that quote is LOWER than what I already have, I will reserve it to take advantage of A) lower prce b)stateroom credit c) 10% off. Then when I got home I would need to cancel my original ressie. I can not while onboard, ask DCL to apply the rebooking offers to a ressie I have already made. Does that help? THe reason I went ahead and booked my may 06 cruise is because by the time I cruise THIS November, my May 06 cruise will most likely have GONE up

Call me confused... Do you have to be a member of CostCo? I am a member of Sams Club - Don't know of any CostCo around here?

I just transferred our Aug '05 reservations to Costco and saved $485.00. Same cabins and kept our on board credits. And I was told that since the original reservation was with DCL, I can still fill out my doc's online.

Boy do I love saving money (on one thing to spend on something else of course) :D

This board is great!!

yes you need to be a member to use their travel services. But you do not need a Costco near you to join. You can join online -- and even make purchases online.

Just a little O/T... I just saw on their website that they're taking advance orders on the new Nintendo system that will be coming on in November.

I am less confused now. I booked thru costco because they were about less than DCL for 06. Now when we go in a few months, I will check the rate for 06 and see if it's less with discounts and credit and will decide what to do.

However I'm wondering if I might benefit from booking thru DCL and then calling Costco to transfer? Is the discount for transferring to costco 10% or does it vary depending on cost/category/whatever?

Regarding categories, does rebooking on board offer the 10% discount for 7 day regardless of the category? Or are only certain categories available?

Sams club is another warehouse 'type' club. Anyone can join costco even if there isn't a costco near you. Just go to their website to join. Also you can get their phone # there too under travel and then cruises.

I read somewhere that it'll play or there will be some kind of adapter for it to play the Nintendo 64 games. I don't even think the stores that sell and buy used games carry these anymore.

Really?!! Wow!! I know it will play the Gameboy SP games, and I'm assuming the GameCube games? I don't know...I'm determined that my boys are NOT getting one this year! They just got SP last Christmas!
