For Costco members - most of you probably know they'll do a price adjustment if the item you bought goes on sale / gets marked down within 30 days but I found out today they didn't even need my husband's receipt! He goes weekly for a cheap lunch out of the office and had purchased a ski helmet two weeks ago for $50. It was marked down to $29.97 today so he went to customer service and all they needed was his membership card to give him back the $20!

He called me all excited that he "made money by going to lunch". Usually I'm the budget crazed person, not him! :flower1:

Good job! Yes, I did this over the holidays when they took $20 off a doll I bought for my grand daughter.

They can look up anything you buy - no receipt needed - because I've also had them look up stuff when I needed to check on whether I still had warranty.

I also like the fact that if there is a recall, they know you've purchased an item and will send you a notice.

My Costco requires the original receipt for a price adjustment, even though they can very easily look it up in their system. I had to make a trip home for a receipt for furniture not too long ago. Bringing back the receipt saved me $200 though, so it was worth the trip home!

Must vary by store :)

We actually got a $20 gift card from Costco a couple of weeks ago (without us even requesting a price adjustment). The letter said something about they were able to find a better price on it from the distributer.

Our two Costco stores require the original receipt for price adjustments.

Last year I tried to get a price adjustment on a pack of socks that had gone on sale a few days after I bought it. I had my receipt. The woman at CS wouldn't give me a price adjustment. She made me return it and said I had to rebuy it! That's the only time I'd ever tried for a price adjustment there, so I just assumed it was policy. That is the only time I've been less than thrilled with Costco. It annoyed me so much that I didn't rebuy the socks. LOL.

Costco's system is amazing. Using our cards to keep track of our purchases. I totally suck at keepin receipts

I had same thing w a laptop, for that matter GC is still sitting on my desk lol

Guess it varies by store (imagine that). I think it's awesome they can look it up! I was surprised he even checked since he didn't have the receipt. If they wouldn't do it, he'd have just gone back to get the receipt. I can't believe they send gift cards sometimes!! That's amazing! :thumbsup2

My Chase Reserve card has a price protection feature that if an item goes on sale within 90 days of the purchase, they will give you credit for the difference. A purchase we made in Nov went down by $125 so I filled out the paper work and got a credit.
