Costco auto buying program? Feedback?

Has anyone ever used the Costco Auto buying program? Was it worth it? Just looking for some feedback purdy please.

My friend and I both bought the same mini van (exactly the same features) within 2 weeks of one another. She went through Costco, I sent emails around to the various dealers in my area. I got a much better deal doing it on my own. Approx saving 1000.00.

I tried using Costco, but the only dealer that came back for their program was in the next state. Even if I had saved a few hundred dollars, I did not want to travel several times to MA. That practically would have negated the savings. BTW, this was a very common car, not a Mini Cooper or anything like that. It's still worth checking out though; maybe it will work out better for you.

If you are not a haggler, you will likely do the best with Costco. If you are willing to get your hands dirty and go for the jugular, you'll do better on your own.
