Costco AP Tickets

I read here that Costco is selling AP tickets with a $50 gift card.

Since I am 200 miles away from a Costco....just looking for anyone with some more info. We will be driving through Phoenix, AZ, and then on our way to DL. I know where a ton of Costco's are in AZ (but not sure if they are carrying the tickets). We will also be driving past 4 Costco's in CA on the way (the morning we will be too early for a Costco to open). We will past Costco in La Quinta, Palm Desert, Indio and Palm Springs (I think, yahoomaps told me so). So if anyone knows if any of these Costco's does (or does not) have these tickets any help would be greatly appreciated

I would guess the CA Costcos you mention would have them, but you can always call them (look up the number on costco.com) and call and see!

They're also supposed to be online soon, but who know if and when that will be?

Over on mouseplanet, they found that the item# is 295609, which should help for finding them.

I did make some calls (thanks, I get so addicted to my computer I forget about my phone ) Looks like AZ Costco's DO NOT sell them, but the ones in CA do. So, anyone know if these are good for the general public, or do I have to be a SoCal resident

They're good for anyone. There is no residency requirement, they just aren't sold outside of SoCal at the present time.

On Friday, I was at my local Costco (Scottsdale, AZ) and was told they would not be receiving the Deluxe APs, only SoCal stores would have them. But I would imagine since they are Deluxe and not SoCal APs, anyone can get them.

Rumor is that they will be available online. And since costco.com recently took the 4 days to play tickets off their website, I would guess the DAP's will be on there soon.

Does anyone know if you can call and order them from one of the SoCal stores and have them mailed to you?

FWIW, there was a post on the other site where an employee at the Costco was surprised to see the poster come up with the AP "packs", b/c she had been telling customers they didn't have them. So the employees don't always know.

You're absolutely right. I've had that happen too. After looking where the City Passes are, I was told to ask the supervisors in the front with the red vests. But, of course, I will keep checking back. I may just try to pick them up at a SoCal Costco when we're there over Columbus Day. Haven't decided, though.

A poster on the other forum noted that in the Costco he visited, the DAPs were not located with the other Disney passes but with gift certificates (See's, etc).

I know the Costco in San Bernardino has them, if that helps anyone. We just got ours there a few days ago and they had tons. They were just a piece of cardboard (with DL AP info on it) that you take up to the register and then the supervisor gets the actual ticket for you. It took the supervisor a little while to figure out where the tickets were but we finally got them. Also, fyi, you don't get the gift card when you buy the tickets at costco, apparently they give them to you when you get to DL. On the back of the ticket it says something like "Deluxe Annual Pass/$50 gift card". They also had Sea World and Universal Studios tickets. I think maybe they were APs too but i didn't look at them that closely.

At my Costco, the City Passes and the gift certificates are together in one area. But thanks for the reminder. I'm sure they're separate at other Costcos.

By the way, has anyone purchased the APs from the Garden Grove Costco which is a couple miles south of DL? Just trying to plan my strategy.

ETA: Oh yeah, anyone in the Ventura County area, I had DBF check and they do have these available at the Costco in Oxnard. But he asked and the Costco employees don't know how long they will have them available..

DH was told that once a particular store's initial shipment is gone, they're gone, so it would be one of those only while they last deals.

Of course whether that's really true or not is anyone's guess.

If they do end up offering them online, I can't imagine that they would be all that limited, but who knows?

I emailed Costco yesterday to ask whether or not the pass would be offered in N CA or online. This is the reply I received today:

Thank you for your email to Costco Wholesale.

I am sorry, but this pass will only be offered in Southern California.

Thank you everyone for the feedback. I did call a SoCal Costco, and they do have the passes - so I will definitely be making a Costco run on my drive to DL!!!

(and to support what others have said...I called the AZ Costco's and was told the same thing - that the tickets would only be available in SoCal)

Hi!

My sister in law just happens to be at DL this week and I told her about the AP's at Costco (our AP's expired in August and theirs expire this month).

Neither of us were going to renew and had planned to maybe wait another year or so before we got more but with the $50.00 gift card per AP it was almost a no brainer to get them. So.... I called the Costco in Fullerton (900 S. Harbor Drive) and they told me that they only had 60 of them as of Sunday AM. We purchased 7 of them -- 3 for my family and 4 for them.

I do not know the specific details on the cards other than what I was told on this thread. I saw that you have to activate by 5/9/2009. We are trying to put off the activation to the last possible minute to extend our useable time as far into the future as we can .... I cannot believe I am typing this..... as "we" (DH and NOT ME!!!!) want a Disney Break ..... OUCH that hurts to type.

My SIL decided to call DL and specifically ask about the activation of the Costco AP's and they told them they had until 5/31/2009 -- that is different than that I was told here.

If anyone out there has one in hand and can tell me the exact specifics on activation that would be great and I will send Pixie dust!!!


Not that there is much time between 5/9 and 5/31 but it does make a difference because school gets out on 5/27.

I hardly think I can wait until May to go but just want to "justify" the delayed gratification to DH!!!
