Can anyone that has booked a cruise with DCL through Costco tell me if I still have access to my activities planning page or do I have to go through Costco every time I want to make a change to my activities/excursions. How much control do I retain I guess is my main question.

Although no experience with it yet, it should be the same as with any other travel agency. You can still login to the DCL site and select your activities excursions. The only thing you cannot do is anything that involves a financial transaction. Ie, change in cabins, add/remove, etc.

In the past, I was able to add celebrations or dining rotations request directly with DCL even though the reservation is done via a travel agent.

This is my Costco experience. As long what you need doesn't involve a room change or payment, you can do it all yourself.

I booked through Costco for the first time for my April cruise and have not had a probelm. I do all activity bookings as usual through the DCL site and I've called DCL a couple times with issues (check-in date was wrong because somehow my Castaway # didn't get added, and dining requests) and they were happy to handle those things. Definitely worth it for the Costco rebate card!

Yep, you still have 100% control of your activities planning page. You book your own excursions, activities including character breakfasts, princess greet tickets, spas, etc. directly through DCL. (Sometimes I wish I could do it through Costco's website because DCL's is flakey as all heck, but I digress.)

Payments for the cruise itself is done through Costco, just like you would with any other TA, but if you're paying with a credit card, you don't even have to call to speak with an agent. You can do it online through Costco Travel. If you're using a gift card, you will have to call and speak with an agent. Other than that, and special requests, you can pretty much do everything else yourself. Really though, anything other than a quick fix, the Costco agent patches you through to DCL via 3 way conferencing anyway, so you're pretty much dealing with DCL directly. Like when I was making payments using multiple gift cards, Costco conferenced me in with DCL so I was speaking directly with DCL while the Costco agent sat in silence taking notes, and doing the math to make sure everyone had everything correct. The Costco agent caught an error that the DCL CM made, so I was really thankful for that, actually.

We booked through Costco. As soon as we received our confirmation, I was able to log into the DCL site and see my reservation. The only thing that didn't happen was our Castaway Club numbers were not input into the Costco system so I had to call DCL to get those added for everyone. Costco set up my final payment to automatically pay on the date I selected so I didn't have to call about that either. I haven't had any complaints thus far. :)

If you're familiar with booking a WDW room via an agent, it is like that. You cannot change the room or package, but you can book FP+ and dining reservations on a WDW package booked via a TA.

Same thing for a cruise. You can't change the room or category, but you can check in and book onboard activities and excursions once you're PIF.

I just booked our first cruise earlier this week via Costco. Can't beat the gift card amount. Since it's my first time and more the 75 days out, I can't book anything else. I was able to go to DCL website and pull up my reservation which made it feel real to me. Like another poster stated, I also put in my credit card number for deposit and used the same number and picked out a date for final payment. Very easy so far.

Yes, you do. You only need to call Costco to change dates, rooms, or things like that.

Thank you! I just booked my first DCL cruise through Costco, had no idea I could link my reservation...and now take care of stuff on DCL!

You do everything directly with DCL except pay and change staterooms. I just did online check-in & activities booking for my June cruise which I had transferred to Costco. It was all the same as it was when I booked prior cruises independently.
