We booked an 11c on opening day for the January 16 2016 Fantasy cruise. Is there any way for me to figure out the cost to upgrade to a veranda on my own, or do I need to have my travel agent call and find out? Is it correct that I'd still get the opening day pricing on the veranda room?

Thanks in advance,
-Mark

If you booked with a travel agent they will have to call. We have tried this before and since we used at TA they would not let us make any changes.

Your TA would have to call to get the price. It would be based on the price from when you originally booked. You can go to cruisefish.net to get an idea. It shows the price for the first 2 passengers per room, but you can compare that to what you paid to get an idea.

I believe you must pay the current price on the verandah.

This is incorrect. If you change categories on the SAME cruise you pay the price that the room was on the day you originally booked. You are locked-in to the pricing of that day. If you change cruise dates you would have to pay the prevailing rates.

Interesting. If true, then you should always book the cheapest cabin, knowing the price of the more expensive cabins can't ever go up (though they can sell out)

We've upgraded from an ocean view to a veranda and the price was based on when we had originally booked. I just emailed my travel agent and she took care of it.

Thanks all. The touringplans and cruisefish data are what I needed. I wanted to get a ballpark idea on the cost before having my travel agent pursue it.
