Does anyone have a general idea of how much it would cost to have charms put (soldered?) on a bracelet?

Thanks!

Sorry, I don't because we frequently move charms when we add to the bracelet. Have you ever thought of the "rings" that connect the charms to the bracelet that are not just a circle, but are more like a key ring? I can't explain it that well, but the ring goes around about twice, so that the charm can't come off. I buy sterling silver ones on eBay.

That might work. How hard are they to put on? My fine motor skills aren't that great...

Not that hard. The worst part for me is getting it started because my nails are so short and thin, They are useless when it comes to prying the "ring" open to get the charm attached, but somehow I always manage. Really, I am my own worst enemy, as I frequently put a charm on BACKWARDS, then have to take it off and put it back on again. You know, all the princesses are facing one way, and then I put one on facing the reverse direction. But that's the good thing about the rings. You can change mistakes.

I have to get DD to a party, but I will try and do an eBay search so you can see what I mean. I'll try to send a few links by tomorrow.

Oh......Another reason I prefer these to soldering is that when DD outgrows a bracelet, we can just buy a larger one and transfer the charms. The "outgrown bracelet" with soldered charms is a lost cause.

Those are called split rings. They are awesome and fairly easy to put on. Just like taking a key off your key ring.

I have used these type of rings and have lost charms with them so just be careful.

You want to get double split rings not split rings.

The double are the ones that are like a key ring.

Plain split rings are just a single circle and can pull apart easily if your charm gets caught on something, like a sweater, and thus cause you to lose the charm.

I think the double split rings are what I have used. Never lost a charm yet. :thumbsup2

Look at eBay item 150685069104 to get a closeup view of what these look like. I am not recommending this one, as it might not even be the right size, etc. This is just to illustrate how it works.....just like a key ring.

The single ring is called a jump ring. the other is like a key ring and is called a split ring. Never heard of a double split ring.

The price might be different for gold vs sterling. I had a 14kt gold charm put on my bracelet recently and I think it was $8 give or take. This was a small family owned jewelry store.
