cost of taxi POP- MCO

While we are planning on using ME to get to WDW I am not happy to have to be picked up 3 hours before my flight. We will already have our bags checked and our boarding passes so no lines to wait in at the airport except security.
I am thinking we would rather just take a cab a little later... So how much is a cab from POP to the Airport?

Probably in the $40 range. Just be aware....even though you won't have bags to check, you can still get hung up in security. The security line can, and does, change on a moments notice. I have seen it be very quick and then 10 minutes later, there is a huge line, with hundreds of people waiting to go through. A towncar will pick you up about 2 hrs, 2 1/2 hrs. before your flight departure. You are really better off getting to the airport early, and grabbing a bite to eat and relaxing. I know that leaving 3 hrs before departure seems like an excessive amount of time. But it's only about 45 mins more than you should safely leave.

And don't assume you'll get checked through to the airport, ME or no ME.

I've used the "check your luggage at the resort" option before and it worked great, but on our last trip, they told us they couldn't do it and we had to go to the airport and check in there. (We later realized one of our party was on the watch list, or had the name of somebody who was -- very common Irish name, by the way, so don't assume that it will never happen to YOU)

The Disney folk were very nice and apologetic, but if we hadn't had a rental car and had promised the kids another hour or two at the park, we wouldn't have been able to keep that promise.

So if you use that option, check in very early and get your paperwork in order -- don't show up at the last possible minute or you could have big problems.

In the past I have gone to mousesavers site. Under transportation they have a taxi company listed. You can call them and ask for an approximate cost.
