Hi
We are booked for two trip, one June 25-July 3 and another Decemeber 21-Jan 4th. Is it my understanding that both of these trip will now be upcharged from their regular price on meals. :surfweb:

If that is the case how much more will the costs be??

We are a family of four and both DSs are now considered adults. :sad2: This news could make a big different in how we plan meals and help us decide if eating off site may be a new option.

If I am not mistaking (which I could be), I think the holiday surcharge is something like $3-4 per person....anyone else?

they all seem to be about 3-4 as the PP said. It is seems crazy to me that they do this. I hope it does not put a strain on your plans. good luck

Holiday surcharge applies only to buffets and all-you-can-eat meals.

Mine is not to reason why.

For whatever reason, WDW has decided to surcharge buffets and all-you-can eat meals for holiday and peak periods. Just thought that the OP should know this particular charge doesn't apply to ALL WDW restaurants.

Thanks everyone.

It won't affect our plans but it does annoy me. Unfortunately there are some people out there that will be affected by the constant creeping up of prices throughout the parks. We have been there the past four years and we see the changes each trip. We will most likely look at more offsite meals, if for nothing else the principle of it all. I don't like feeling that I am being ripped off-no need for greediness.

That's not the "Holiday Spirit".:santa: More like Scrooge has been placed as the leader of the corporation.

No. Dining Plan credits 'pay' for a given meal; they are not worth a certain dollar amount (otherwise there'd be, for example, an out-of-pocket charge for a $25 steak over a $20 chicken at a menu service location).

Okay, so if I have the DDP, the surcharge is not something I have to worry about, except for the tip amount, which will probably be a little more. Thanks for the info.

It is probably time for you to get the Dining Plan. That price is the same year round, no impact of surcharges and your boys will get plenty to eat.
