What will Universal charge you if you add a second day before you leave the park that first day? How does that compare with just buying a discounted 2-day ahead of time?

We are staying offsite and visiting over Thanksgiving. We would like to try to do it in one-day (mostly Potter and some non-coasters as well). We are off-site and not planning on express passes. So I am trying to see if a one-day visit is possible or if we should just plan on 2 days and buy the 2-day ahead of time. But if there is no savings I would just add a second day after we see what we get done.

Schedule
Wed- Arrive/Downtown Disney
Thurs - Universal
Fri - Visit Disney resorts
Sat - Universal? Beach?
Sun - MVMCP
Mon - maybe animal kingdom
Tues - depart

I had my Disney TA confirm with her Universal in-park contact and they confirmed it is the same.
We have the same plan as you regarding Universal.

Are you sure? Don't they charge the gate price difference which is higher than purchasing online?

When you upgrade, they tend to charge the online price, at least that seems to be the experience of people upgrading UT tickets and that was our experience.
