Hi everyone! Iwas just wondering if anyone is using any 'out of disney' florists? If so could you please give me some info please.
Basically we have been totaling everything up for the wedding and it's getting ridiculous! So we're trying to get things down a bit (well quite a lot!)
I have heard that disney do bump things up quite a bit, so if anyone could offer me any help i would be so gratefull, thanks:wave2:

We're actuallyusing Disney floral, mostly because if for some reason something does go wrong, they will fix it without us even having to know about it. But we did get our floral proposal on saturday. Our total came to $1639 for everything. i'm not sure what your budget is, but Laura (our florist) worked with us a lot trying to find ways to save money. We actually came out less than expected. We opted for more candles as centerpieces, rather than huge floral arrangements. We are also having the unity arrangement moved to the head table at the reception. Remember that with any florist you chose, you are essentially paying for labor. The more elaborate centerpiece you chose, the more its going to cost, because it will take longer to put together. Plus, try to pick flowers that are in season. Since my wedding is in the summer, hydrangeas are at peak season, so we are incorporating those into bouquets and arrangements, plus they are good fillers so it doesn't take many of them, and they come in a huge assortment of colors. I hope this helps a little. Since our reception is at the french pavilion, we didn't have the option of an outside florist. Good luck!

Thanks for your response! Your bill is still a lot higher than mine!I'm just tring to go down different avenues to see where we can try to reduce the cost, and obviously flowers is not one of them! we have looked at randy chapman for fotos which we're gonna go with,
oh well back to the drawing board!:artist:

I highly recommend Chris and her team from Whimsical Wey. We used them and we couldn't have imagined more beautiful flowers for our special day. Because we had an in-park reception we could only use them for our ceremony, but we saved a boat load of money. Not only did she deliver the flowers to our hotel but her price was unbeatable!!! Give her a call or check out her website. www.whimsicalwey.com Tell her Andrew and Diane say hi!! :)

I am planning to use whimsical whey. Diane said earlier that they are affordable and flowers are BEAUTIFUL... THANKS DIANE:flower3:

Hi Diane! We're you aloud to use an outside floral for your cermemony location? Did you use any decorations at SeaBreeze point? If you did what did you do?

I am going to call whimsicalwhey soon.I sent an email but never got a response so I am just going to call. I am trying to stay under 1000 for flowers.

I got married in June 2006 and wanted to tell you that flowers are very expensive. A lot of flowers have to be ordered from overseas and that's what makes them cost a lot.

I only want roses so hopefully that won't cost too too much.

I went with Disney Floral and told them my budget and they were great with offering me ways of saving money!

Tell your floral planner what sort of budget you had in mind and see what they suggest!

I wanted to lower my cost in flowers...we had a proposal of 3700$ at first and called whimsicalwey to meet them. We agreed to meet at the house/office during our last meeting trip in Disney. After getting lost for 30 min we finally found the gate where they live, only to not be able to go in!!!! It is a locked gate.!!!!So we waited there for 1 hour before we decided to leave. That was saturday. Finally on Monday, Karen called us asking what happened. At that point we were pretty disappointed with them for not trying to reach us earlier. We had left a message on her answering machine and an e-mail. She told us that Chris was the one we had to reach, as she was on a lake!!!!

Why didn't Chris try to call us, I have no idea!!

But after all we are happy coz we sat down with Rose after this incident and told her about the prices we were ready to pay for floral. She worked with us, changed few flowers to more "in season " flowers and the bill dropped a lot, without changing the feel of the floral arrangment.

So I say.....go with Disney.

I'm using Emily at Charming Events. Her prices were sooo much more competative than Disney (including linens and those stupid ficus trees) plus I liked her designs more. I didn't have a firm idea for centerpieces and I loved what she came up with. Disney Floral came in with a huge proposal (over 5K) and I wasn't thrilled with their ideas, they seemed kind of plain and standard, plus the cost was 2x's what I had with Emily, who was providing a lot more. I've read alot of good and some surprisingly bad about Disney Floral and I'm just more comfortable with someone who only does 1 wedding per day

I was wondering what the average cost for floral and everything should be? What did you have in mind as a final cost of everything floral/ linens/candles ect.? I really had no idea or maybe I am too cheap and no nothing but I was thinking like a 1,000 for it all. Then i got my bill (from Disney) and it was $2,900. So, immediately I flipped. I noticed my 8 BRIDESMAID's BOUQUETS were $100 a piece (RED ROSES only). So, I went to Michael's bought silk "black magic" roses for $10's already made - added my touch making it about $15each. So, I saved about 900. Emailed her back told her to skip the bouquets and now my floral is at 1,990. Wheww... I think that is alot better? Isn't it?

Hi there. Sorry for the delayed response... I have been working on grad school work. ;) We were allowed to use them just for our ceremony. We were married at SBP. We actually ended up using Disney for our ceremony decorations, which wasn't much... just a couple pieces of Christmas greenery to signify where the "alter" area was and some green/red satin ribbon with Christmas greenery on the railings of the steps into the SBP. They moved it to the reception site afterwards. Honestly, SBP is so beautiful, we didn't even need it. And it only cost around $100 for it. As far as the personal flowers, we had my bouquet, 4 bridesmaids bouquets, a rose wand for my daughter/Jr. Bridesmaid, 8 boutennieres (sp?) and 3 corsages for the moms/grandma. All of that cost us just over $400. The price just couldn't be beat. Now the price will vary depending on what types of flowers you want, but here is a pic of my bouquet.

I would call. They are better at phone calls than they are at e-mail I noticed a while back.

Tinkerbell, I'm sorry you had that bad experience. We actually were supposed to meet Chris at her home/office in Windemere also, but because it's such a closed community and hard to find our way around we were also lost... we called Chris and she met as at a Barnes & Noble instead. So, I would suggest for anyone going to meet with her, ask to meet her somewhere else.
Diane :)
