I am planning on having a party in Aug. to celebrate my 5th. birthday of my transplant. It will be just like a wedding reception. What is the average cost per person for a sit down dinner? I went to a place yesterday and well I think I was being over charged.. The lady told me $65.00 pp.. The most expensive item I picked was $32.00 for the entree' . I know they have to pay for extra staff, linen's etc. So she then dropped the price down to $50.00 pp. Is this the normal price range. I also have to add that this is an upscale restaraunt with a wine celler that I am looking at booking. TIA

Are you having open bar? Around here, something like that costs $100+ a head. Our 20th reunion was at a local hotel, crappy buffet, $125 a head.

Yes open bar, but that will be a billed alone.

I think $50 a head is a BARGIN. $65 isn't too shabby either. I think I paid $104pp for my wedding 10 years ago (included the bar price.)

The wedding hall I worked at in HS (15 years ago) charged $45 a head back then and it was a run of the mill place. NOT upscale at all.

I'm sure it varies regionally. Why not contact another similar place and ask for a quote.

I think those prices sound great. I couldnt book anything around here in that range for a fine restaurant. Thats terrific they came down $15 a head! I would grab it but maybe you can price shop for something similar in your area to compare.

Hope you have a great party and celebration. :)

Was anything else included, like appetizers, salad and dessert? If so, that's a GREAT price and I'd snatch it up.

that included one big appetizer.... antipasto rustico... I will bring a sheet cake. The antipasto will be displayed on a hugh wooden serving tray.

5:00 pm cocktail hour

6:00 pm sit for dinner start serving salad

6:30 main dinner

7:45 desset

8:00 guest speakers and entertainers

9 to 11 party time.. dancing and drinks.

That totals 6 hours for the wine cellar! :woohoo:

CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU!!! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

I am paying 25.99/head for a BBQ (burgers and dogs and chicken and ribs with salads and watermelon) no drinks, this weekend as a surprise party for grandma for 50 people....Totally worth NOT having to do the cooking, they come set up, cook and serve :cool1:
We get to eat and RELAX for a change!!! (grandma is a burger Junkie, truly!)
If we did the sit down thing for a lunch locally it would have been atleast 50 a person but that included soda and wine,,,,,so we're HAPPY with what we got...

OH, for our party we're paying and providing all the drinks....well, that'll ADD right up :lmao: but looking forward to grandmas face AND a few drinks!!! :thumbsup2
