Cost-efficient hotels

I just paid $102 a night for the Hyatt Regency Orange County for early December . $5 daily shuttle to Disneyland. We stayed there a few years ago and enjoyed it. For $133 a night I could have had a suite at Embassy next door and free breakfast but that place is showing its age in the rooms.

What about Cortona or Portofina or any of those types?

We stayed at Stanford Inn & Suites a few years ago and will be staying there on our upcoming trip. They have several specials like 20% off 3 nights or more. With that discount they have rooms with a king or 2 queens for 85.00 a night range and 2 room suites with 2 queens and a bunk bed around 125.00 a night. Parking is 7.00 a night which is cheaper than other places and they have free breakfast. They are a little further south and across the Harbor from the Toy Story Lot.

Unless things have changed there in the past few years we are happy with what you get for the price. Online comparisons seem similar to Portofino and Cortona. Reviews on sites like GetAwayToday are pretty good...

We have DISers who stay at both those properties and do just fine. Haven't seen any nightmare posts about those hotels here recently. Advantage for the Portofino: it is right next door to the 24/7 CVS in case you need snacks/beverages, some light groceries, or sundries.

I missed out on a killer rate at Candy Cane Inn. Now I’m looking for the next best option of a place that’s clean, is close to some sort of transportation, that’s low cost.

I have Red Lion on my list, and taking theToy Story shuttle. Is there somewhere else near there that is worth a look?

Is there somewhere close to DTD that is worth looking at?

I’m overwhelmed and need help here!

Mid-November dates, so I’m also feeling a time crunch.

We like to stay at Stovalls. But, can I ask you about the Candy Cane? What was the killer rate and how did you find it? We used to stay there but it's too expensive now. Whenever I look, the prices are pretty much the same with no discount except for AAA.
