cosplay and Disney inspired outfits for adults

Oh how fun! sorry I missed that one!

Yup!! It was just like halloween! There were quite a few people we saw throughout the day actually dressed up, and a lot more just more disneybounding-ish, it was a long day and we ended up leaving fairly early even with a nap, lil Alice was sleeping on main street before the electrical parade :rotfl:

They're allowing costumes at the Villains event in August as well!! :cool1: So we've got a LOT of costumes coming up!

O so I believe I have it all worked out now. I will be attending MNSSHP in October so I will be going in costume. I could not make up my mind so I will be going as both Ariel and a Fairy. I plan on doing meet and greets with both Ariel and Tink. I ended up buying two of the dresses I showed you guys eariler since they were on clearance and were super cheap. Then for my Epcot day at the Food and Wine Fest I plan on Disney Bounding as Jasmine. Since I was able to snag a reservation for the 3D Desert Party it will be fun to get some what dressed up. So this is what I ordered.

For Ariel:
First I bought this necklass but do you guys think it is too much?

I still need to find a swim top to match the shells:

Found this on Etsy:

Add the red wig I bought and the Flounder purse I used for our last trip and I am good to go!

For the Fairy:
Since I feel in love with this dress but felt it was too dressy for the parks on a regular day I came up with the idea of using it for a Fairy costume for MNSSHP.

Add these wings I am thinking of buying and wola I am a fairy:

Now for my Disney Bounding as Jasmine I came up with a great idea! Remember I told you I bought two of the dresses well I am going to cut down one of them and sew it so it is just the top. The straps can even go off the shoulder so it will be perfect! It will also add a bit of a dress up feel with out being too dressy. So here is the combination remembering that the the dress will be cut down:

I am soooo excited I could just scream! I hope to post pictures of me wearing them at the parks!

I know I'm painfully late to following this thread but I've fallen in love with the idea of "Disneybounding" four our 20th anniversary in 2016.

Every outfit for me has to fit a few guidelines. One, other than 1 very specific dress, all outfits need to have at least 1 neutral colored piece so I can mix and match pieces. Two, if it isn't comfortable and easy to climb in and out of rides with, it doesn't go. 3, Each initial outfit is a full outfit without robbing pieces from other outfits so I end up with a week's worth of clothes. :stir:And 4, bonus for anything that can be combined with other outfit pieces to make additional character outfits (like the purple hoodie + grey tank for Malificent)

So far I have:

A purple hoodie, blue denim capris and pink T-shirt for Figment (I'm hoping to score some mini horns at a local Anime convention next year) I might bead myself up a cute necklace to go with it if I can find a decent dragon pendant.

A red long sleeve t-shirt, a red with white polka dot and bowed headband for Minnie. I'm looking for some black acid wash jeans or skirt to add to this.

A yellow t-shirt, blue suspenders, and jeans for a simple Minion (We plan to spend a day or so over at Universal and I couldn't resist!).

A charcoal grey tank top, a black scarf with mystical symbols all over it, lots of bangles, matching necklace, and a black skirt for Madame Leota (Haunted Mansion).

A dress I'm sewing with a 50's style flair (made with a teacup printed fabric for the skirt and collar), a Wonderland inspired necklace covered in fun charms, and maybe a small top hat facinator on a hair clip. I also have a simple navy blue back-up dress ordered if I have trouble pulling this off.

Currently, I'm keeping my eyes open for something that reminds me of Tink (Steampunkish if I can manage it) and I'm playing with the idea of something inspired by the song Zippidi-Do-Dah.

I'd like one more outfit but really don't have anything in mind yet that has won my heart. I tend to love going with classics or not as obvious takes on characters/movies. I'm not much of a princess sort of woman so I'll pass on those.

I'm considering something related to one of the following: Mary Poppins, Star Wars, Jungle Book, Maid Marian, Fox and Hound (any excuse for a fox!), Wall-E (or EVE), or Black Cauldron.

My husband thinks its cute and has been helping me find stuff but he really is clueless for ideas. Feel free to add ideas.

Sounds like you are off to a good start! Etsy is a good place to look for things. Also google "Disney Bound" or "Disney inspired outfits" which could give you some good ideas. I would love to see pictures when you get your outfits together. Have Fun!
I have not done any of the characters you are wanting to do but I did do a Star Wars Storm Trooper. Here is what I came up with.

This idea is awesome! I've been looking for a Halloween costume for MNSSHP and this would be be perfect! Can you share where you found the shirt and socks? I tried doing a search online but can't seem to find an actually website that sells the socks. Thanks!

I would love to share. First the top is from Athleta. I am not sure if they still sell that model but I found it on eBay. They had a few for sale from different sellers. look up Athleta turbo charge tank. The socks which is my favorite is from Jinx.com. They are called Portal 2 long fall socks. Look under accessories then socks when you get into Jinx.com. Have fun!

Loving all these ideas!

For a STAR WARS idea - you can look at my Princess Leia from our HS studio. Essentially a white shirt, white shorts, silver belt and my hair in two teeny tiny ponytails. ;)

Here's a pic...

I did some disneybounding on our last trip and am currently trying to come up with some ideas for our trip this November!!

Those look GREAT, Nikki! Also, it's nice meeting a fellow tattooed DISer. :cool2: On our last trip, a little girl stopped me at DHS and asked if she could touch the tattoo on my right forearm (it's a pinup), and then she asked me if it hurt. I then showed her the pinup Belle tattoo on my right bicep/shoulder, and she couldn't get over it. She was like, "Ohh! Beautiful!". Kids are so cute.

I'm thinking that since this upcoming trip in February will be my first time Disneybounding, I'll stick with the princess theme, but then my next trip in 2016 I'll do gender-bending, and I'll Disneybound as Gaston, Woody from Toy Story, Peter Pan, etc.

I love the reactions of little kids when they see tattoos. I find it super cute. (Adults on the other hand..... When they want to touch your arm or leg, ha, that can get weird)

I'm so confused about what to disneybound as this time!!! I'm thinking Daisy, Mickey and either Russell or Ellie from UP. So many characters... So little time haha

I am going to be there for a holiday party too! I'm so undecided on what to wear for that. I know that MNSSHP has Lots of folks dress up (obviously), but I wasn't so sure about MVMCP.

Eeeeeeek so hard to decide

It definitely isn't a costume event but you'll see people in Santa hats & things like that!
