Dh and I were surprised his bust was still there when we visited in late May.

They made the right call by finally removing it. I guess they needed that deposition to confirm it (which seems ridiculous), but I'm glad it's gone.

They definitely made the right call to remove it. As far as Captain EO goes. I never saw it when it first came to Epcot in the 80s. Back then, I probably thought it would have been awesome. But seeing it as an adult with all the allegations that came out about him in the back of my mind, I was creeped out!

The court of public opinion is a powerful thing. With Bill Cosby, it took awhile to accept what he has done because he's Dr. Huxtible. But I maintain MJ was innocent. In his case, it was easier for people to leap to the conclusion that he was a pedophile because of the fact that people found him weird. I think the fact that he was found not guilty in court is enough for me to assume he was a very messed up person, but not a pedophile.

If it were one accuser, or perhaps even two, I might agree. But there are so, so, so many boys/men who tell the same sordid stories that I have a difficult time believing that they are all making it up. Yes, he was found "not guilty" in the criminal trial, but even the defense admitted that Jackson shared a bed with several young boys. They simply maintained that "nothing inappropriate" happened while they shared the bed. A grown man sharing a bed with young boys, alone, is enough for me to be disgusted. It may not be illegal. But it certainly isn't proper. Oh. And there is that bit about paying one boy $16 million for his silence. That never looks good.

At the time, that wouldn't have surprised most.

Cosby came from an era when Playboy used to run supper clubs (the Playboy Club) throughout the world, where Cosby both worked and played. Plus, Playboy has sponsored the world-famous Playboy Jazz Festival at the Hollywood Bowl for nearly 40 years, most of those with Cosby as emcee. And, a connection to Playboy in Hollywood is not always nefarious...Hugh/Playboy are tied in significantly with USC, UCLA and all the UC and Cal State university systems, funding programs and professorships on censorship, media, and journalism.

Cosby and Camille are also leftover from a time when Hollywood marriages were more of a business arrangement; Bob Hope, Jack Benny, Bing Crosby all famously kept multiple mistresses their entire life while parading around their wives/families in the press and on TV. The difference is, those side arrangements were consensual were it looks like Cosby truly is a sexual predator. Many didn't want to believe much worse rumors about the Cosby (many 30+ years old) until the evidence was so overwhelming.

As for Captain EO...hated it in the '80's, creeped out by it now.
