Correlation between AP and GP room-only rates???

So I know the AP room-only discount codes came out today, but I don't have an annual pass and am holding out for hopefully the same discounts for the GP! So my questions are:

1. How soon after the AP room-only codes do the GP room-only codes usually come out?
2. Are the GP codes typically for the exact same dates and discount rates? (i.e. no extra blackout dates, same % off for different resort tiers)
3. Will there likely be a decent selection left after the APs book rooms with these codes?

Any information is MUCH appreciated! I am hoping for the 40%-off deluxe discount for a room this December, so just getting a little anxious that APs already have the exact deal I'm fantasizing about!

Another question is whether Disney releases a new batch of rooms for the GP codes or are we just left with whatever rooms are left over from the AP discount?

According to mousesavers, last year the GP discount was released the day before the AP, and the same day as the free dining order. In 2009 the GP discount was released 5 days after AP. They seem to have the same blackout dates.

Yep. After doing further research, it looks like the discounts should pretty much be the same with a GP code too. The only question remaining in my mind is whether a decent # of rooms will be available with the GP code, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see!

Normally the AP discounts are about 5-10% more than the GP discounts.

This year they seem to be less than normal though. I've always been able to get at least 35% off the moderates, but for some reason the AP discounts for late August/Sept are quite a bit less. The AP discounts for Oct-early Dec are only 30% at the moderates this year. This past May the GP discounts came out before the AP discounts for some reason. Alot of AP holders were angry about it. I know I booked using the GP discount, then had to call back a little later to switch it to the AP discount which was just a tad better.
