Coronavirus Poll - Are you still going or.....

Are you still planning to go on vacation during Spring Break/Summer to WDW?

We are booked in June and will still go. Instead of flying, we are going to drive which is not a bad thing. I will save on airline fares and may even put the savings towards annual passes. Thanks everyone for responding to the poll!!

I didn’t answer, because our trip is to Dallas. We aren’t thinking of changing anything right now. Will drive if the situation deteriorates and Southwest issues an advisory.

We've got a May trip to WDW coming up and we've no plans to change it. I must admit that I am a little nervous though - the way things have gone in other countries I think we have to realize that the parks closing is a possibility. What percentage of a possibility? How far from a probability? No one knows. :confused3

We have a WDW trip for end of May. We are waiting to see. Have to renew APs and make FP the end of this month so we'll need to decide in next 3 weeks. I'd rather be going sooner rather than later. As it hasn't spread all that much yet. But by May it might have spread quite a bit.

I was suppose to arrive tomorrow for a combined work/play trip - a few nights at All stars sports and a night on DVC points at poly. We are in RI and due to recent cases and the work I do I couldn’t leave RI. WDW and DVC let me change all plans with no fees and so fantastic about it. I am so bummed as while I didn’t love the idea of being on a plane I had no anxiety about going and staying at WDW and so bummed I can’t go but thankful I will rebook with my refunded $ and points.

I’m not going to WDW, but we are going to the Masters that week. 50,000 people there each day. Still planning on it, but will monitor the situation.

Leaving Friday with my two 20 year olds and husband for a week in NorCal. It would take something awfully dramatic for me to change my mind. LOL.

We rented DVC points for spring break. I'm more waiting and seeing and hoping they don't close the parks. That's what I'm more concerned about.

We’re heading to South Florida next week. Instead of coming home for spring break, my college kid is staying in Florida to sing in a show. It will be the only time we get to see him between January and May, and we’re only going to be there for three nights. We will bring Clorox wipes to clean our armrests and tray tables. We will wash our hands frequently and use hand sanitizer. If my guy is going to sing, we are going to be there to listen and give him big hugs when he’s done.

How many times are you going to copy/paste this thread. You have been closed once, deleted all together a second time. Hoping this one goes unnoticed. You going to put it somewhere else next, maybe under Restaurants.

This topic is open under multiple threads, respect the fact moderators do not want more on the topic opened.
Why are you worried about what others post?

We are set to arrive at Vero Beach 4/3 and WDW 4/6. I am watching the spread of COVID-19 closely. If it gets bad in Florida we may reschedule but not making that decision till a few days before.

We have always taken Clorox wipes to clean down the areas we sit on the plane. People always looked at us funny but I have to admit we have never gotten sick travelling. We also opt out of housekeeping as we sanitize our rooms. It doesn't hurt to take along a travel size lysol spray either to spray on surfaces such as the toilet seats.

Again, all of this is preventative which is never a guarantee not to get sick. At least we have piece of mind we are doing something

We have WDW Spring Break plans for Easter week but are considering postponing our trip. We really don't want to cancel (not been in 3 years) but may do so. My husband was attending a huge healthcare IT conference in Orlando for next week and several large companies, including his, have pulled out of the conference.

I am 0% worried about cov19. I do have concerns about social media and the news stirring up enough panic that they close the parks or air travel. We are driving (were anyway this trip) so are in full control of our destiny. If they close we get our money back. If they don't maybe there will be less people. win win for me (sorry if that sounds insensitive)

Do you really think that companies and airlines will close because of what they see on the news or on social media?

Here's what my company sent out....

I want you all to know we are very carefully tracking COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and any impacts it could have on you and our clients. Given the complexity of this topic, we are engaging with the World Health Organization, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and other experts and authorities, as well as carefully tracking how our clients are reacting

I assume most companies are the same.

at this point no, not at all.

I do understand the power of "fake news" though (or exaggerated, or whatever tag you want to give it). People get stirred up easily now with so much on demand information. It is what it is and no one is going to change peoples minds on a message forum but the major news outlets will stir hysteria intentionally for ratings. Real new is boring and no one watches.

I do think the data will never support the hysteria though and corona will go the way of bird or swine flu.
