Coronado Springs walking distance?

I just booked our trip for Free Dining!! We usually stay at Pop Century and have always loved it. However, this time because my kids are considered 'Disney adults', the cost to upgrade to Disney Dining from Quick Service comes out higher. Because of this it would only cost $83 more for the stay if we switched to a moderate. I wanted Port Orleans French Quarter because of the small size. But no rooms available there, so we booked Coronado Springs. I was wondering if anyone knows what the longest distance would be if we got a room farthest away from the main building and bus stop? Staying at Pop we always managed to get what seemed like the far away rooms no matter what our request, so we usually had about a 10 min. walk from room to main building.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks - Summer

I would say that the farthest distance at CSR would also be about 10 minutes. Call and request either Casitas or Cabanas. ranchos is the farthest out. All of the sections are beautiful!

Ranchos is definetely a lil more than 1o minutes to the last furthest bldg. maybe 13. or so . But that is real clsoe to the main pool, which is the best.. My suggestion would be Either cabanas 8a or the Casitas 4. IMHO both ideal locations. CSR is a lovely resort. Let me tell you, about Pepper Market, which everyone usually bashes. It's a whole lot more for a lil small tip. I mean small. roughly an extra dollar per person is sufficient. $5 is usually what we left for them for 4 of us. in the pepper market though, the food choices are great, ou never ever wait , like you do in all the other food courts, nor do you ever have a problem getting a table. They seat you in literally 30 sec's & you are up getting your food right after that. Also drinks they bring to you. (Hence the $1tip) Also the best bus system..Hands down...You will fall in love with this place, I'm sure of it...Ask KatMark....She'll tell ya.

We LOVE CSR! They have an internal bus system set up to get you around because the resort is so large. The park busses stop at the food court last so you can hop on at the bus stop closest to your room, to get back to your room you take the DTD bus because it stops at the food court first. Its really easy. If you have your car with you, just drive around to the front. We do that often if our room is far.

We were in Ranchos at CSR in 2010. Our room was in the very back of the building, and so the parking lot (and bus stops) were very close. All we had to do was walk outside and there were two bus stops about 2 minutes walk away from our room. There was a small pool outfront, and the additional walk to the big pool was just a few minutes more - I'd say maybe 5 minutes total to get to the big pool.

I found I could get from our Ranchos room to the Pepper Market area in about 10 minutes, and that was a slow walk since coming back in the morning I was usually carrying two mugs of hot coffee.

Thank you for all the info. I am even more excited now!! I love the look of the resort and the rooms. The pool looks really cool, I am sure my kids will love it! And this may be the closest my husband gets to seeing myan ruins! A 10 minute walk is no big deal, so this sounds like it will be fine. We booked a standard room. Are there any buildings that are strictly preferred? I don't want to pay the extra, but may put in a room/building request depending on what we want to be closest to.

Preferred rooms are casitas 1, 2 and 3. They are close to the main building (restaurants) and to bus stop #2, which is the first stop picked up on the way to the parks (buses to the parks go casitas, ranchos, cabanas, El Centro; Downtown Disney buses go El Centro, Casitas, Ranchos, Cabanas). It would be about ten minutes to the main pool from the preferred rooms.

Buildings closest to the main pool are cabana 8A (our personal favorite), cabana 8B and Ranchos 7B. Casitas 4 and 5 are nice spots near a quiet pool, fitness center and laundry - about five minutes to the main building and about 7 minutes to the pool. Cabanas are located in between the main building and the main pool - they are a popular non-preferred request, especially for families. Ranchos are the quietest and are the farthest away from the main building. 7B is a nice spot - close to the main pool, laundry, and quiet pool. The other Ranchos buildings are 10-15 minutes from El Centro.

We do not book preferred rooms at CSR - we like the cabanas the best. I would pay extra to book the cabanas (shhh!), but fortunately they are standard rooms.

On one trip, we requested cabanas but were given casita 2. We asked the CM at check-in if she had anything closer to the main pool and she found us a room in cabana 9A. Don't be afraid to ask if you don't like your location at check-in - they will try to help you.

I think you'll have a great time! My DD loved the big pool - the water slide is really fun (I liked it too) and if you have the refillable mugs, there is a place there to get refills. We stayed at CBR the year before, and I think we ended up liking the CSR big pool better.

As I recall, I think I'd requested anything BUT the Ranchos when I made the reservation, and that's where we ended up. But we were perfectly happy with our rooms and the location (and being so close to the bus stops was a HUGE plus) and ours was just the standard room, not preferred.

The first 2 pages of the CSR thread is loaded with information, including walking distances between sections of the resort.
