HI,
Maybe someone can let me know, I said at a few disney resorts
mostly deluxe resorts and only because It was a hotel setting and
there was less to walk. In July I am staying at the Coronado Springs
Resort. Will I be disappointed. Small bathrooms don't bother me.

THANKS FOR ANY HELP:smooth:

We just returned from Coronado Springs and we loved it. The resort is beautiful and very well themed. We had 3 adults in our room and did not feel crowded. Depending on where your room is located will decide whether or not you will have to walk a lot. We were located in Ranchos 7B. We really didn't need the food court and only ate at it once. If we wanted to get to the main building we could ride the bus or take a nice walk. Our room was close to the following. The Dig Site main pool, a quiet pool, and Bus stop number 4. When I stay here again I will ask for the same. Hope this helps!!:)

If you are a deluxe resort guest, you could find CSR less desirable. If you were to end up in the ranchos section, you would be walking a lot more than you may be used to. CSR does have some amenities that you would find at a deluxe resort (gym and spa) and some amenities that are due the convention aspect of the resort (coffee maker, iron).

CSR does have a great main pool area, beautiful landscaping and terrific transportation but it does included walking.

You can check out my site below for detailed info and pics.

Go with an open mind and enjoy!

Thanks for posting this! I was wondering the same thing. We've only ever stayed in Deluxe resorts, but after pool-hopping to the CSR on our May trip (we're DVC members), I've been wanting to try CSR! We only use our DVC points for Sun.-Thurs...we always spend the high-points weekend nights elsewhere. I think we're going to try CSR for the weekend on our Oct. trip.

Can anyone tell me if this is a quiet resort? It certainly seemed to be when we pool-hopped there. Also, is there a particular section that we should request if we want the quietest room possible? We don't mind walking at all:D

We stayed in Casitas 4 it was very quiet. The plus was the quiet pool just short walk away and both el centro and the main pool only about a ten minute walk. I thought it was quieter than the deluxes and I thought the kids there were better behaved--sorry but every time I do the deluxes I find there is a disproportionate number of bratty kids in need of supervision! I don't know if that is because the parents have nannies at home and don't know how to "deal" with the children or just don't care. In any event it makes my trips so much less enjoyable. We usually only use "paid" stays on Friday and Saturday to conserve points from DVC, but Coranado is now on the top of my list!

I'm sooooo glad to hear that you found this resort to be quiet. DH and I have about had it with the noise at the deluxe resorts. I agree with you about the disproportinate # of badly behaved kids at the deluxes! We could not even sleep at the BCV the last night/morning that we were there in May because of the kids (and parents) SCREAMING at the top of their lungs in the room adjoining ours:( When we pool-hopped over to CSR, my first thought was that it looked like a very quiet resort! I think that I've settled on booking this for our 2 weekend nights in Oct. now:D

My husband and I are very excited about staying at CSR for the first time. We've only stayed at deluxes so far, but I still think we are going to enjoy our time at CSR.

I'm so glad to hear that it is a quiet resort. The Dolphin was quiet, and we loved that. And we really loved Wilderness Lodge, but it was definitely NOT quiet!! We didn't mind so much then though, because we had our own children with us, and these other kids made ours look like angels, lol!

This trip will just be DH and me, so quiet is a lot more important to us!

I thought CSR was very quiet also. It is a very laid back resort. We were 3 adults and I thought this place was very appropriate. Ranchos is one of the quietest sections. We would lay around the pool and chat while relaxing in the pool. It was great. I will definitely stay there again. :)

CSR is the best deal at WDW $$$$wise! It's moderately priced, but is more upscale than the other mods. We paid $109 and thought it was such a good deal, whereas I paid $84 at CBR and was not impressed. The resort is large, but we walked around it several times in one day. It's s beautiful and there are things to see the whole way around the lake! It was soo quiet at night that we thought that there must be no one else in our buidling!

The more I see of CSR, the more I like it! I haven't stayed there - yet - but I have visited the resort to eat and take pictures more than once.

You know, they have Jr. Suites (they're a combination of two rooms) that cost less than some of the regular rooms at a Deluxe? :)

I have quite a few more pix, you can find them HERE. There are links at the top of the page that will show you around the resort.

CSR is a quiet resort, as long as you aren't on the first floor near the housekeeping station. We were in Casitas 1 and were woken up every day by the staff getting ready to work--usually about 7:30, which is OK except for the day after MVMCP (when it lasted til 1 am, and we didn't get in bed until 2). Other than that however, the resort did seem quieter than others I have stayed in.

I agree it is quiet...but room location is key. My first visit was to Casitas 5, waterview (free, unexpected, and unrequested upgrade), and this was a great location. We were somewhat centrally located to the Dig Site and the lobby areas. I was not CLOSE to anything, but it was manageable.

My last visit was a standard Casitas 2, which was a LONG walk to everything and I am an avid walker. The size of this resort can be deceptive to those not staying in the outer netherlands.

We also had a parking lot view (room 2285) which disappointed me. We only paid $74 per night so what did I expect anyway? Next time I will pay extra for waterview and be a little more picky at check-in.

Otherwise, this resort compares well with the deluxes I have stayed at (VWL and Dolphin). I am now spoiled for a balcony though. The pool at CSR is better in my opinion.

There were children at the resort, but they were the minority...and seemed older than at other resorts. We were at VWL the last half of our trip and I didn't find the VWL areas to be noisy, but I witnessed chaos in the main lodge area. Actually that brings to mind a story....While DH and I were relaxing in the main WL lobby we saw a group of adults eating dinner at Whispering Canyon. They were seated in the area near the DVC sales desk (away from the main restaurant area but overlooking the lobby). A couple toddlers were running back and forth over the little bridge in the lobby that spans the stream. They were screeching (and I do mean screeching) at the tops of their lungs. After about 15 minutes of constant screeching, one of the adults yelled "SHUT UP!" He was ignored of course and finally the toddlers' parents gathered them up and disappeared. But I just thought it was funny because most of us were thinking the same thing!

I am a DVC member and do the moderate resorts on the weekends to save on points and would definitely stay at CSR again.

We stayed at the CSR last November for the MVMCP. I loved the beauty of this resort and the quiet, peacefulness of the atmosphere there. We stayed at the Casitas 5 and really loved it. We have also stayed at the Poly and CR and enjoyed both of those, too. The food court was a bit far away, but we really didn't use it that much. However, everything is a bit of a trek. Things are not as close as at the other resorts, but you do have a lot more quiet!

Hope you enjoy your stay.

I loved CSR. We were in the Cabanas section and I thought that location was perfect.

Do rent a bike if you're a bike rider and ride around the resort to appreciate the full layout. :D

Well I am going to have to disagree with the bulk of the posters here... I stayed at CSR just last week for 4 nights b/c my nieces wanted to stay "where the jaguar spits on you". Both my brother and I are DVC members so we could have pool hopped but to me thats just a pain in the but (again that is just me) so anyways we book a few nights nights in a Water view (2 rooms) and we left the rest of our family at our villa's. At check-in the line was what I would expect it to be, but when we got up to the cast member she was less then helpful. instead of booking us in two rooms they went ahead and gave us a suite... now this would have been a nice thing for a small family but this suite had one "queen" bed not king??? and a pull out. When I told her that we needed the two rooms she look at me and said "ugghhh, are you certain??" I laughed at her and said "yes". Without saying anything she turns around and walks into the back...12 minutes later she comes out and says Great news I can get you two rooms, as if it was some miracle. My niece, who is 4 said "well its what we booked isn't it" hehehe needless to say the castmember didn't find it as funny as I did. Now I paid for a water view and instead they gave us a standard. When I arrived at the room the coffee pot was full, the ironing board was set up and there was a pile of dust and bugs swept into the corner of the bathroom. I assumed that they weren't expecting people in the room that night so it didn't get a final cleaning. It was about 9 pm when we got there and I called down to the front desk, they told me that they would need me to leave the room for a hour or two, NO Problem we were headed to the "jaguar slide" anyways. when I returned at 11:20 pm nothing had been done. Nothing was done the next day either, other then making the beds. Even the glasses were just rinsed out and put on a wash cloth to dry, how do I know they were the same? we only had two and both were cracked. Now I did find the grounds to be gorgeous and relaxing, and the pool was fun. But the smell of fertilizer and the hundreds and hundreds of frogs took some getting used too (especially waking up and walking around to see at least 10-15 squished frogs on the pavement). I did enjoy the pepper market and the tranportation was good. But I would not choose to stay here again. So my recommendation is that if you are used to a deluxe resorts amenities don't choose to stay somewhere where they are not the same. One last opinion, I would pick CBR over CSR other then the pool. the rooms seem to be a little nicer IMHO, but again the pool and grounds at CSR are beautiful and unique!!!

Phanomouse I hope you complained! That is dreadful! A hotel room should be neat and clean no matter what the price paid. I had a similar experience at AKL. You gotta wonder how many House keepers Disney actually has? Have they laid a lot off or what? It is like pulling teeth sometimes getting the room ammenities/cleanliness that you pay for.

We get these "housekeeping stories" about every resort (even the GF), so I don't think your situation was typical.

I think this resort is "between" a 3 and 4 star resort. Meaning, it's not an AKL, but it's not the Courtyard , either.

The rooms themselves, I think, are the resorts worst feature(you should have seen the ones at the Courtyard-UGH!). Since CBR's refurbishment, their rooms definitely have the edge here. When CSR's rooms are done.... watch out! Does anyone know when this resort would be scheduled for a refurb?

I thought I had read somewhere that Casitas 4 and 5 were being rehabbed. I can't remember where I read it. My guess is that after Port Orleans is refurbed then Coronado will be next.

Your right susy... there are a ton of housekeeping stories that pop up everyday. In fact I have been going to WDW long enough to have a few of them about 24 yrs 3-4 times a year a couple weeks at a time. What upset me about this one is that it never was cleaned until I did it myself! and ususally if you call once or twice about a specific thing they make sure that this one thing is done even if other things are missed. Like I said the resort itself is beautiful, the rooms in my opinion are nothing to write home about though!

I totally agree! The rooms are just average hotel rooms-in need of a facelift. I guess after PO gets done, maybe they will start on CSR. The rooms at CBR are VERY nice!
