Thank you! I should have posted the time, we have 7:30am reservations. I am thinking maybe we need like a good 45 min or so to us plenty of time to get there? Do you think that sounds about right?

If you are taking a cab to the Boardwalk to eat your breakfast, you will not need 45 minutes. You should be there in no more than 20 minutes at that time of the day (if even that); DH and I drive to DTD and it takes us 20 minutes and the Boardwalk is before DTD.

Hi everyone! My family will be staying at the CSR for the first time in only 15 days!!! And being that it is our first time I was wondering if you guys could help me out with requesting a room. (We'll be calling them sometime in the next few days) Okay so there's three of us, my mom, my sister and I. Usually the proximity to the Bus stops are a big deal for us but this time we have a car so its not a problem. I think we really just want to be as close to the Pepper Mill/gift shop as possible, but I'm confused about where the prefered rooms are/where the convention guests are located.

We booked a regular room, and I would really like to stay either of the Cabanas 9 buildings...can we ask for this? I know its just a request but I really don't want to get stuck way out in the Ranchos. (my mom has major feet problems) So can we ask for the Cabanas 9 or are convention/prefered people there?
Also...
As far as a second choice is concerned which is closer to the pepper market, the Cabanas 8 buildings or Casitas 4?
(and a side question, If say we went to walmart and bought wine coolers...can you drink them at the hotel/by the pool?)

Thanks so much!! (can't wait to check out these hammocks I hear so much about :thumbsup2)

Preferred rooms are in Casitas 1, 2 and 3 only. Cabanas 9B is "Club Level" but only for paying convention guests.

Convention guests can and will be placed throughout the entire resort and are not restricted to one certain area.

When you call Central Reservations to have a notation for a request put on your ressie, indicate you would like Cabanas 9A or 9B. Like you said, there is no guarantee but it doesn't hurt to have it on there. Once you get there if they do place you in the Ranchos and cannot move you, I would not be concerned with it. You can drive to the front of the resort where the Pepper Market and the gift shop are located and park there while you eat/shop (you are not designated a parking spot while there).

Casitas 4 (one of our favorites) is a five minute walk for me to the main building; Cabanas 8A would be about the same walking over the bridge.

Just want to comment how much I enjoy reading this thread. We are down to 99 days until our trip. It's going by quickly... the anticipation is as fun as the trip (to me anyways) :)

Thanks to everyone for your contributions to the thread... it helps to get everyone's opinions, thoughts, and ideas about CSR. I can't wait for our first stay at this beautiful resort!

Thank you so much!!!! :goodvibes I'm suprised that Casitas 4 is only a 5 min walk, that's not bad at all! I guess I thought things were much more spread out. This makes me feel so much better.

I agree that this thread is great! :thumbsup2 We're at 122 days, but I love the anticipation and planning a lot. I'm relatively new to these boards and they are so great to be a part of.

Hey Kat :)

Okay - we have finally reserved CSR - so excited!! :cool1:

A quick question about where we should request to stay...

We only plan to eat at the resort once so I am not too concerned about being close to food. I would like to be close to a bus stop and, if possible, close to the pool - whichever one has the child's playground.

Where do you recommend we request?

TIA!!

I have noticed everyone wants Cabanas or Casitas- I love the look (thanks to all of your pictures) of the Ranchos. Is there something about the Ranchos that you do not like?:confused3

I guess the fact that they have less palms and greenery are a big part of it and the fact that they are the farthest away from ElCentro. I like the looks of them just fine though and am thinking of requesting Ranchos 7B.

Wow!! CSR charges for packages?? When we had them delivered to other resorts there was no charge. Somehow it just does not sound right. Does anyone know how much they are charging? I need to take that into consideration with the shipping charges also. After all we are shipping baby formula (After the fiasco in NYC airport delaying DD for 40 minutes because she had an open container of formula powder in the diaper bag.) diapers, swim diapers, snacks beverages etc. Also the baby formula is not carried by the ggrocer. :sad2:

I read on another site that they charge $3-$10 depending on the size (weight) of the box. They get so much sent to the resort for all the conventions/conferences, its no wonder they have to make up the cost of manpower to sort and deliver all that stuff.

Did you call or email gardengrocer about the formula? They are great at picking up extra things that are not on their website. They have shopped and found specific wine and different yogurt for me as well as nice sand buckets and shovels. As long as it is easily accessible at a grocery or discounter like Wal-mart, they are happy to do it. AND...CSR does not charge for gardengrocer deliveries. Good luck:goodvibes

8A seems to be the most popular request. I know it's my favorite building.:rotfl: It's about 2 minutes from the bus stop, 2 minutes to the main pool/playground/arcade and less than five minutes to the main building.

I put in a request for it, for both my Sept and Nov/Dec trips.:rolleyes1

Good morning CSR fans,
We will be checking in this Sunday:cool1:and will be there for one night before moving over to Pop (we added a day to our vacation last minute). We want to spend some time shopping at DTD as well as spend a good chunk of time pool side on Sunday--if we get to the resort around 12:30 do you think we have time for both? I'm thinking shopping first then pool in afternoon. Or should we go to DTD in the afternoon/evening? How much time do you spend shopping?

Thank you!!

I finally have a little extra time so I am going to write up our review.

There were 4 of us. My mother (54), my daughter (10), her BFF (10) and me (31).

Our trip was May 7th-14th. This was our 2nd stay at Coronado. I requested Casita's 4 or 5 with the highest floor possible. Last trip we were in Casitas 5 top floor. We arrived via Magical Express around 12:30 PM. We walked right up to the counter with no wait. When we checked in we were given room 7363 in building 7b on the second floor. I decided to go ahead and just take the room instead asking if our request could be filled. I was very pleased I did. The quiet pool and laundry were around the corner just down the stairs. The pool was never crowded and was always clean and relaxing. The dig site was only a 2 minute walk away but we only went there once. The bus stop was just right down the stairs and across the parking lot. The room was always clean. The only issue we had is that sometimes we were not given 4 towels only 2. We had to call and request more, which were delivered right away. We never heard another person while we were in our room. Doing laundry was even great because we would just hang out by the pool. Like another poster said a few pages back we also had issues with long waits for the buses and then they were full. We never encountered that on our last trip and infact thought it was the best bus service we had ever encountered. We rented a car our last 3 days for a trip to the ocean and City Walk. I think no matter where we stay next trip we will rent a car. It was just easier hopping in a car and driving where we wanted. Parking is also great and plentiful. We ate at the Pepper Market once. It was good but the wait was a bit long for the food. About 25 minutes for my daughters pizza. We also had Cafe Rix which was good for quick services and eating by the lake. I was disappointed by the lack of grocery selection at Panchitos. They do not have sandwich fixings like other resorts. They do have some chips and doughnuts.

The girls and my mother loved it. So I think it works for all ages. Coronado is a very beautiful resort. IMO the prettiest on property.
I think that about covers eveything.

Our stay was wonderful and I am Coronado fan and will more than likely stay again on our next trip. If you have any questions let me know.

I know there is a Coronado Springs photo thread but I though I would share my pics here as well since sometimes everyone does not make it over there. I have a lot so hang with me.

I would go to DTD first as it tends to me more crowded at night. Depending on how many stores I want to go to, I can easily spend three or four hours at DTD. But over the years, I've found my "favorite" stores and usually know what I'm after and I can be done in two hours.

I finally have a little extra time so I am going to write up our review.

Thanks for the review and I'm glad to know you ended up liking Ranchos 7B (that is what we've requested for our trip in September).

Your photos are terrific and I'm sure I speak for everyone that we would love to see more pictures. In fact, I may ask you if I can use some the next time I have to update the thread after it reaches it maximum number of pages.
