Once we figure out what we want to request what is the best way to actually go about requesting a room? I know you used to fax the request directly.

Have it noted on your reservation. Faxes are useless since the rooms are now assigned by computer.

I think my mom invented a building... She wanted me to add "Ranchos 7C" as our room location request. I looked at the map they gave us on our last trip and I can't find a 7C ! Can't find a 7C on AllEars' map either.
:confused3

Definitely an "invented building." Actually years ago, they used to have a C, D and E.

I stayed at Coronado Springs in February for my first time and my oh my, it was gorgeous! I remember when I was younger my dad booked a reservation for CSR and I told him to change it because I wasn't interested in the Mexican theme. This year though, I decided to try it. I was so wrong as a child! It was beautiful and spread out. I adored the hammocks and couldn't help but lay down in them each time I saw them lol. The rooms were great and very spacious, compared to values. I have to say my favorite part of my vacation at CSR was the pillows. So niiiiceeee! :rolleyes1

ETA: I forgot to mention the CMs. They were amazing, all of them were glad to help and answer any of the questions I had. I was checked in very quickly with an extremely friendly CM. I have to say, CSR has become my second favorite resort.

I would ideally like to have a view of the lake, beach style in the front. Are there any buildings that face the hammocks, or look out on similar scenery? Everyone said for adult couples, Cabanas 8a or 8b would be the best but I'm wondering what type of view they come with.

This past Dec I had a fantastic first floor, corner room in Cabanas 9A. The side window looked out over the quiet pool and the front window overlooked the lake with the beach and a hammock right there. Just before you got to the beach, there was a nice bench there beside the walkway overlooking the lake. No matter which window I looked out, I saw water. It was just steps (maybe 30 seconds) to the quiet pool and maybe three minutes to the main pool. To get to the bus stop I walked right along the edge of the quiet pool every day to a short little path that went beside the laundry room, then around the outside toward the parking lot and along the sidewalk to bus stop 4 (actually the third stop).

How about a compromise at Cabanas 8A?
- right around the corner from the bus stop
- a couple of buildings away from a quiet pool (& laundry)
- hammock right outside the door!
- closest of all the buildings to the Dig Site, and surprisingly quiet still!

Don't know about the parking lot part. We were facing the lake, though it was not a water view.

I also loved the room I had in Cabanas 8A in Sept '09. I didn't have a water view though. It was a first floor, corner room that faced Ranchos 7B. I think all of the rooms in 8A face either the lake or Ranchos 7B. I don't think there are any parking lot views in 8A.

Aubriee.....

Can you see the landscaping to Ranchos 7B if you have a room in Cabanas 8A that faces in that direction?

Thanks.

Judy

My room was a first floor corner room that had a bunch of shrubs/flowers right in front of it that were a little above waist high, then there was a little road that the carts could run on, then more shrubs and trees at the back of Ranchos 7. You could see Ranchos 7 from my door, but you had to sort of look up to do so.

I am so happy to hear you enjoyed the CSR! Thank you for writing your mini review. The hammocks are great, aren't they? :goodvibes

Happy to hear you had a great time! But I only quoted you to say; "Awesome doctor!" :thumbsup2 Though the new guy is still growing on me... I still love David Tennant. :lovestruc

Trip paid off today, 60 days until my first time staying on property, and both of my DD's first visit! Can't wait to get to CSR!

Just wanted to express my elation!

We have 58 days until our first stay at CSR!!!

We will be there with our three DD's 8,8 and 6 and they have NO idea they are going. We are thinking about surprising them at the airport but we are still thinking of a good way to do it. Any ideas?

I had booked a room at CSR last November for my 50th b-day. I ended up not being able to go due to illness and finances. Thankfully things are better now.
Last month I was cleaning out my old emails and came upon a Disney Destination one with a pin attatched. I was able to use it just in time as it expired the end of Feb. I booked a room Nov 13-19 with a 35% off pin!!!
I'm really happy now.. (or have been for the last month since I booked!)
I'm going to have to come to this thread more often. I get excited about going when I read what everyone else has to say.

I was able to go in Nov 09. We stayed in the Cabanas which were really nice. I loved having the hammocks. Since we are only adults and no kids.. we used the hammocks one day to read and relax and went to the parks later in the evening. It was wonderful.

Are the Cabanas preferred rooms now? Truthfully I dont' really care where we stay as the rooms look alike inside and the busses are convenient no matter where you are. I'm just sold on the hammocks!

thanks for letting me be excited on here!:)

The preferred rooms are supposed to be Casitas 1 2, and 3. Some CMs at the call center have told people the Cabanas are too, but KatMark's source at CSR says they are not.

Thanks Aubree,
I really do like the Cabanas and have requested them. I'll keep my fingers crossed, but really any room is fine. There is also only one conference going on at the same time as my visit. Some national forestry thing. Shouldn't be a problem in my book.

Aubree, are you the one that posted quite a while back about using some sort of packing squares? If you are, how do you like them?

Liz
