We leave Friday...5 Days! Can't believe it almost here! Our first night will be spent taking night photos of the resort. YEA! Don't know when I'll squeeze the day shots in, maybe I'll need to get up extra early one morning! Can't wait to report back and do a TR!!![]()
I found out today that I had to change our Nov. vacation dates. The only other time we can go is during Pop Warner in Dec. I was able to book another king room at CSR. Does anyone know how Pop Warner will affect CSR?

Right. As far as I can tell, nobody knows which rooms count as "perferred" under the new pricing structure yet, right?
Right.
I check in on 1/6/10 for Marathon Weekend...booked a King Preferred with the special offer discount...(not sure if even Passholder discount will be able to save me more!)
and wont have any post race
...so I thought preferred would work!
What kind of shampoo and soap do they use at CSR? I know they have different kinds at different resorts, but I am curious. We went on a Disney cruise a couple years ago and loved the kind they had.51 and counting!!!!!! I can't wait, I am so excitedWhat kind of shampoo and soap do they use at CSR? I think they use the H2O prodcuts that the Deluxe resorts use. But I am not sure.
Only 33 days left.![]()
You are correct; I should take a picture when I get home and post it here (actually, I may have one in photobucket...I'll go look). Unlike the other moderates, the CSR has the shampoo and conditioner separately.

YAY!![]()
There is a steak at dinner; friends of ours just got back and had the ribs and the fettucine (here's a link to her report: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2565061&page=12
that they said was very good). My DH and I had the rotissere chicken last month and it was quite tasty.
Kathy we just ate lunch at the Pepper Market one day last week and the steak with mashed potatoes and grilled veggies is back on the lunch menu. My husband also got a Steak Rancho (?). Anyway, it was a steak with some kind of cheese and Mexican red sauce over it, black beans, rice, grilled veggies and a side of guacamole and jalapenos. One thing we found had changed was that we could no longer get a smoothie as a beverage on the DDP as we had in the past. All of the desserts were included though. We got a really good cheesecake and a strawberry cake. The tip was never mentioned and we almost forgot to tip. If I hadn't known about it from here on the DIS, I wouldn't have known.
So glad I found this thread! We have stayed at AKL several times.
The Swan, the Poly and WL. This year my DH just announced he
would like to go to Disney for Thanksgiving Yeah!!!!
I can do a standard room at AKL but I was thinking about giving
this resort a try. We don't spend much time at the resorts, mostly
in the parks but this would be our first moderate resort. I don't see
much difference except the cost!! I think I would rather put that money
to some great sit down meals at parks. Any reason to stick with my
no view standard room at AKL?

You are back already? How was your trip? Send me a PM if you prefer.
And thanks for the heads up on the menu and the steak at Pepper Market.
Ours was almost always the first bus stop though, so that was nice. The buses came frequently. In fact, other than the resort feeling very large, we didn't find any of the negative things that others have posted about it. For some reason it just didn't feel like home though. I may go back, but if I do, it will be several years down the road. It just didn't feel like a place I need to rush back to. Mark and I both prefer CSR, although we also checked out POFQ again while we were there and asked guest services about their planned refurb. We were told that they'd be starting this week and that POFQ would be finished first and should be finished by April, so we're probably going to stay there in May just to try out the new refurbished rooms. I'll be back at CSR in Dec though (just 6 more weeks
), and can't wait. We had to make a trip over there just to eat one day last week and seeing it, made me realize how much I missed it. They still don't know where the preferred rooms are going to be located. We went to guest services to ask and the CM was nice enough to call and check for us. He said everything was still just speculation, but the CM he spoke to said that right now they are thinking Casitas 1, 2, and 3, and maybe all of the Cabanas, although Cabanas 8B may be left standard. I told him I was planning a trip down there for May and would like to know, before I booked. He said for now to probably plan on only Casitas 4 and 5 and the Ranchos as being standard and everything else preferred. That'd mean that only six buildings would be standard and seven buildings preferred.
Somehow when I think of that room I had for one night last fall on the top floor, in building 2, that had no elevator getting to it, and an ugly parking lot view, being classified as a preferred King room, I must cringe. lol
