Does anyone know, are the king bed rooms equally distributed throughout the different areas of the resort?

Thank you KatMark for taking the time to put together this excellent thread.

We are a family of 7 and always get adjoining rooms. Do you happen to know if requiring adjoining rooms limits your choices of rooms or buildings at CSR? Or are there adjoining rooms in each building.

No, it does not limit your choices. There are adjoining rooms in all buildings. Just remember that it is only a request and not a guarantee when you ask for them. And I'm glad that you enjoy the thread.

You're welcome! Wish I would have thought to post them sooner.

The timing turned out perfect. We got them in on the new thread!!! Thank you again. :goodvibes

I can't wait to get there!!! 50 more days:goodvibes

Yes, they are spread out in all of the buildings.

Finally caught up!
When making a window decoration what should one include? I know Home Depot Mickeys are good but is there a certain color or saying that I should include to let people know I am a real DISer. I need the secret handshake, people!

It is Lime Green Mickey's (but they are actually called "Alien Green" at the Home Depot).

Well we are all booked for next year at CSR. We are going from 8/24/11 to 9/6/11. We kind of like to move around to a different resort each time. However, this past summer we stayed at POR. It was a nice resort but just didn't feel right. We really enjoyed having the trundle bed. Having one of the kids sleep on that each night while one of us got a bed to ourselves was fabulous. However, we didn't really care for the bus service. Lines were always way to long. I'd always peer over at the CSR bus stop and see maybe 20 people in line while waiting for the POR bus line to cycle through. I was missing CSR. Then the CSR bus came to pick them up while we were waiting for the next POR bus. I bet everyone got a seat. We hardly had to stand when riding their buses. I was missing CSR even more. Once we finally got off the bus we had to navigate all of those paths through the Alligator Bayou section. I thought to myself, I miss how easy it was to get around CSR.

So for next year we aren't going to have anymore I moments of how "I liked how CSR was..." because we'll be there!

Glad to hear that you are going back to the CSR. You'll LOVE the new beds and new decor.

Only 1 month until we're there. :woohoo::banana:

In fact we'll probably pulling in right about this time a month from now. We have reservations at Boma for 9 am on arrival day, so it'll be an early check-in (I don't expect room to be ready) and then grab tickets and go to Boma then DHS then MK.... WHOO HOO!!!!

i believe when travelling with 2 adults and several children they do indeed guarantee adjoining rooms now (a change in policy)...but I will double check when I actually make a reservation. I also think they clarified that adjoining and connecting mean the same thing...i.e. there is an interior door joining the rooms.

My understanding is that they will note it and will do the best they can, but they never guarantee anything. If this has changed, I am sure a lot of people will be very happy.

I'm trying to decide whether to upgrade to a king room or not. This will be our first trip without the kids (college and high school obligations, so they're staying home this time!). We loved our room last year, we had a corner room in Ranchos 7B. You walked right out to the quiet pool, it was wonderful! If I upgrade to a king room, it looks like I can't choose a waterview, is this true? Maybe I'm better off just not trying to get a king bed, since they have queen beds anyway. I just thought since we didn't need 2 beds this time. What do you think? Thanks!

We booked a standard room in 2009 and were upgraded to a king/water view. Personally, I wouldn't pay for a water view (did it once only because we had no choice) only because we aren't in the room that much to enjoy it and there is no balcony. I have to tell you--the king beds are heavenly (but, then so are the queens).

Thanks for your replies KatMark! We got the waterview as a bonus last November, as I had only booked a standard room. Maybe we'll get lucky again! It won't really matter though, we loved every area of CSR! I'm just happy to be going back!

I just want to say how excited I am to arrive on the 18th of December to CSR! I read this thread as often as possible. People at work say I am Dis obsessed :)

Thanks for putting this threat together!

Oops! Sorry, I typed THREAT! and I meant THREAD...my apologies

They do indeed guarantee now...I just spoke with them...as long as you have 2 adults and any number of children.

I read somewhere else that if the CM you speak with doesn't say this, mention that you want the adults booked in one room and it will automatically happen that you get the guaranteed connector for the kid's room. But in my experience booking in 2009 and now in 2010 they all seem to know already so this may be moot.

Great news! Thank you for sharing. :goodvibes

In 24 hours I'll be checking in to CSR for the first time! I'll be doing a full trip and dining report when we return with a ton of photos! Thanks for all the great info! Hope I love it as much as you all do!!!!!

I hope you have a most magical trip, receive lots of pixie dust and enjoy your stay at the CSR. :)

Dumb question -- in the Cabanas section, are the hammocks spread out? So that if I stayed in 8a (for example) a hammock would be close by? (My ideal location would be "Near dig site, near bus, and near a hammock!")

TIA!
:thanks:
