Your typical non- alcohol drinks....Juices and milk at breakfast (they had chocolate too, soft drinks, coffee, tea. Don't think there was any smoothies or anything like that.

Jumping in because we have finally had the first snowfall here in MA and driving last night was no fun. Bet you can guess what I dreamed about last night........... If you guessed my trip to Disney and CSR in 6 weeks you would be right!! It can't come quick enough!!!

We're getting that snow now and it is not going to be a pleasant rush hour. I wish I had gone to Disney yesterday rather than leaving next Thursday. Oh well, I'll be there in six days. :woohoo:

Fab, that will suit us just fine. We only need some coffee and juice for breakfast and softdrinks are fine for lunch. I'm hoping to hit each buffet once on our trip since we have the free dining.

Hi,
Hoping that someone here can give me some info. My parents just decided that they want to do a big trip with the kids/grandkids (1st week of august)
Over the weekend I was looking online and getting some ideas of cost for them.

CS's was one of the resorts we were looking at and I priced out rooms. Today when I look if I put in for 2 adults 2 kids, the only options are junior suites. While that might be nice for all us, it's too much $. (we need 3 rooms with 2 beds and 1 for my parents which could be 2 or1)

Anyway, I was wondering if they hold rooms to release later or if once they are gone they're gone? My dad will call to make all the reservations anyway, but I was just seeing if we should look into another resort?
Thanks!

There is a convention scheduled August 6-11 (EMS professionals). While it likely takes place entirely in the convention center and wouldn't affect your enjoyment of the resort, it is likely that the group has reserved a block of rooms that will be released later if they don't fill up. I found the website for the convention and it said registration will be in Spring 2012, but I couldn't find a deadline to register. You might try playing withy our dates - sometimes the room you want is available every day except one, so if you can move the dates slightly, you might find what you need.

I checked Disney's website and found standard rooms from August 1-7. When I tried August 5-12 or August 1-10, I saw only junior suites. I bet it is a convention block.

If there is a convention around that date, they may have rooms blocked for now that they will release later. Try putting in a day earlier or a day later and see what pops up...that sometimes helps.

Thanks
I did see that the EMS convention was that time, but I hadn't thought about them holding rooms! Since I had just looked on Sat I thought it was crazy that today they were full!!
I'm passing the torch over to my dad!!! He's the phone guy, I'm the online gal!!

One more breakfast question:
I keep seeing people in their dining reviews getting what's called a 'continental combo' meaning they can have 3 snack credit items for 1 counter service credit.
Just wondering if anyone had done this at Coronado Springs recently or maybe now that it's breakfast buffet only(at pepper market) are pastries even still available at one of the CS places at this resort?

We did it at CSR two weeks ago. It was at the other little CS place where you fill your mugs, not pepper market. We really were in a hurry and did not maximize our choices but rather got easy to travel stuff for the trip home. They however have a lot of desserts, muffins, ice cream, fresh fruit etc that would make a nice snack or even a breakfast. If you fill your mug, and use a snack credit for a muffin that is a GREAT way to get breakfast.

This may be the weirdest question I've ever posed here on the DIS..but here goes. Does the gift store sell personal care items, specifically shaving cream and disposable razors?

Oh gosh. I'm so embarrassed but I had to ask!

The reason is this: All things are set for me to head down June 1-8, 2013 for my birthday (the reservations still to be made, but all is saved for, etc). However, I really, REALLY only want to fly with a carry-on and my purse, and I am pretty sure I can't take either razors or shaving cream on. Not wanting to be beastly during my trip, I figured if I could pick such things up when I get there, I would rather do that.

I'm quite sure they will be like, 5x that of at home, but I don't mind as I planned for such an instance. I thought about asking the DBF to stow it in his luggage, but I'm trying to even cut that out.

Also, I have very long hair and always brought my own hair products. I've read in this thread they supply a shampoo/conditioner combo bottle, but may I request more during my stay? I don't want to be a burden. I'll gladly purchase it if I need to. Even though this will be something like my 16th trip, all on-site, I've come to realize I've only called Mousekeeping once for more towels!

Any help would be appreciated!

You can take disposable razors in your carry-on bag. No problem with them. It's barber's razors and razor blades that can't go through the checkpoint.

I'm wondering about snack credit items for breakfast also, did you have to use actual snack credits to get your items or did you get 3 snack items and use 1 CS credit?
As a pp also says, I've seen reference to the 'continental combo' in other resorts on some reports on Dis. We are not big breakfast eaters, a pastry, bagel etc is more than enough for us but I know we'll use our actual snack credits in the parks and would be left with some CS credits so if we could use then for 3 snack items in CSR it would be great :goodvibes

They were Counter Service Credits. I had finished out our snack credits in the gift shop buying mickey treats for friends and all that was left on the card was 3 kids counter service meals. I asked her if it made a difference between kids and adults and if we could get snacks and she said we could and it made no difference. I assume you would need to get all three snacks at the same time to make it work. The had some very nice bowls of fresh fruit in the cooler and some huge muffins. EASILY makes a nice breakfast.

That's great, thanks so much. :thumbsup2
There will be 3 of us so it should work out well. As we probably won't eat on site on the days we go to Seaworld or shopping etc. I've booked TS lunch & dinner some days so will have lots of CS credits left. Good to know they won't be wasted and we won't have to pay OOP for breakfast items. ;)

Was thinking of going the 2nd week of Nov. for 8 nights but when I tried to find out the rates for CSR for my dates it said there was no availablity for those dates. Can the resort really be full!?! Can anyone tell me can I get grilled cheese at cafe rix for my kids(no ham)? Also can anyone tell me what white wine they sell and how much it costs at the resort. Thanks so much:)

A lot of people have tried booking a room for November 2012 dates with no availability. I think there may be a large convention in November and CSR is withholding rooms from the public until they can guarantee enough rooms for the conventioneers. That would be my guess. I can't think of any other reason why November would be booked up so far out -- others have tried to book over a month ago with no success. I would keep checking!

I can't answer your other questions as I haven't stayed at CSR before but I'm sure the others will chime in! I'll be at CSR in 3 weeks and would be happy to check out the wine selection & prices for you while I'm there if no one else already knows. ;)

Hi- I ran into the same issue when trying to book our trip for the first week in November. I ended up booking at POR a few weeks ago just because we wanted to get it booked to make it "official." I kept checking CSR though, and last week found availability for regular (standard or preferred) rooms so changed our reservation to CSR. So definitely keep checking if you're interested in CSR!

This happens a lot at CSR. As a convention resort, companies put a hold on a huge number of rooms really far out. A the date approaches, the rooms they do not need are released for other guest. There may be a huge convention during that time. There were conventions going on while we were there earlier this month and it was totally a non issue for us. If you can wait a while, chances are something will come open or go ahead and book and you can always change later.

For those of you who are interested, the Touringplans Blog just did a review of the new setup at the Pepper Market: http://blog.touringplans.com/. :goodvibes

Thank you for that, I am very excited about the buffets at Pepper Market. We're on the QSDP so this is a good way to maximise our credits and have a little bit of variety.
We're planning on going to each buffet at least once, especially lunch sounds very nice.
