Coronado Springs Resort - New Unofficial FAQ Thread - November 2011

We are going in March and picked CSR as our resort for Free dining. I have stayed before when we would go to pepper market and pick each station and what we wanted to eat. It was a simple stamp system and we really did like the ease and food.

Is Pepper market now a buffet? Is it going to stay that way? I don't want to switch resorts but I am just not a buffet person. I don't like food that has been sitting around for a period of time.

1 more sleep and we're off! :goodvibes Will try, but no guarantee, to post info and pics of PM. Looks like some nice weather too. :woohoo:

Just booked a last minute, January stay at CSR with the free dining plan
It has been a few years since I have been to CSR as we have stayed there once before. I will admit I really wanted to stay at POFQ, since that is the only moderate we have not tried yet, but there was no availability with the free dining. I will be checking this thread out over the next few weeks to refresh my memory. The last time we were here we had our own car, so I didn't worry about where our room was so much. This time we will be using Disney transportation.

From what I read, it's a buffet for one month for a test....but it doesn't sound like your typical buffet.....they still have the same station setup and you have to go to that station and ask for what you want. So it sounds like to me they still make it when requested. I think for supper, nothing has changed. The buffet system is only breakfast and lunch.

First I want to thank everyone with all the info on CSR :thumbsup2. We checked in on Dec 14th and are very happy so far. Also, I did not put in a request and was put in Casitas 5133. When we walked to the room I thought it couldn't be right because we had booked a standard. Well, I look out each morning and see a beautiful fountain with the lake behind it :wizard:. The staff here have been so helpful since this is our first stay :goodvibes. My family is already planning our next trip. I will try to post pics soon (just hard right now with an 8 month old):rotfl2:

Yay! I'm so glad you are enjoying CSR! Thanks for the update! :goodvibes

Thanks for the dining plan update StitchandPooh'sMom. We're staying at CSR for the first time May 29-June 8 so it's great to know that the Pepper Market will remain a CS credit. :thumbsup2

Are there rooms near the lion fountain, and if so, which building? The pics of the fountain look beautiful at night! We will be staying March 30 - April 5! :)

Well it looks like we will be trying CSR over the MLK weekend!! It will be me (Dad) and 2 of my daughters (15 & 13). I originally had reservations at the CBR. I booked under an AP rate and at the time I booked, a CBR pirate room was the only Moderate room open. However, I was looking at the dates again and found a standard view at CSR open. Although CBR looked really nice, both of my daughters going are teenagers and I thought CSR might suit them a little better.

So I am really looking forward to trying out CSR and a long Daddy/Daughter weekend!!!!

:cool1:

I ate at the Pepper Market again today for lunch. Let me tell you!! The third time was the charm!! It was an excellent experience and better than either of the other two times!!

I tasted two things I hadn't had before, the ceasar salad and the mixed vegetables. The ceasar salad was the best I have had in a long time. The mixed vegetables took me back to Ohana's mixed vegetables that I had years and years ago at my son's birthday dinner.

My 7 year old had the kid's chicken breast and he said it was the best chicken he ever had at Disney! There was a seasoning to it that was delicious.

We also tried the loaded mashed potatoes for the first time. The gravy was amazing. The potatoes dh and I disagreed on. The bacon was gummy and chewy to me, but we both loved the flavor. He didn't mind the texture of the bacon.

The only change we noticed was that dessert is now self serve, except for the cake or icecream. But the muffins, cookies, pastries, you serve yourself.

We are booked for 8 nights at CSR for next April. Seriously considering a change due to the new PM buffet. An example of a typical meal for us would be to share an 8 inch pizza ($10) & Caesar Salad ($9). Or possibly fajitas ($12) & a dessert ($5). We don't want yet another buffet that would not only cost us $34, but be way more food than we want or need! I guess I really don't do so good with change, eh??:sad2:

I think with the age of your girls that you made a great choice. There is a huge hot tub (largest of the mods), queen beds, (massages if you want to give your girls something a little special), a sand volleyball court, etc.

Thanks for the update, Tink.

I hear you...I don't do well with change sometimes either. But for years, people have been complaining about the Pepper Market and suggesting they change it. :confused3

So, I just moved our reservation for June from Wilderness Lodge to CSR. I just was not in love with the pictures of WL's rooms, believe it or not. I booked standard view, but what kind of room request would you all recommend?

We are going in January. This will be our 2nd time at CSR. The first time we stayed in Casitas #2. We always rent a car so bus stops and distances aren't that big of a deal, but we did walk around the resort when we were there. I think this time I would like to try the Cabanas area.
