We have booked! Our first stay at CSR will be this October. This is our last moderate to stay at, so far CBR is our favorite. We wil be on the go, go, go most of the trip but looking forward to the queen beds and some great photos. Hope we like it!:goodvibes

Just upgraded to the CSR for a trip from aug 25 to the 30th. We were staying at a value hotel but after seeing the reviews here we decided for the minimal amount for the upgrade the better hotel will be better for 4 people. We can not wait to the trip....

So I mentioned to a friend that we booked CSR, she was less than thrilled. She said rooms and beds were rotten and I let her know they were just refurbished so no worried. She also said they could not get he room cool, air was not working that great. Any worries with this??

I wouldn't worry. Many people in every resort thread in this forum describe the exact same situations about every resort.

My SO had the flu while we were there, and spent 75% of his time sleeping. He STILL talks about how wonderful the beds are.:rotfl2:

:thumbsup2 That's great. I have started pricing our next trip and I was really surprise that there isn't that big of a price difference between the values and a room at CSR. I think you'll love it. We did. The beds are fabulous. The resort itself is absolutely beautiful. The pool is amazing. And the bus service is fantastic. Short rides everywhere and minimal crowding on the busses. There is no way I could justify the price increase for a deluxe, so for me, CSR is the way to go.

i have been going back and forth trying to decide whether to book CSR or POFQ. and i've finally decided to stick with CSr :cool1:

my 45 days is in 2 days. decided to remove the dining plan as i cant decide whether to go the regular or deluxe plan. i can still add the dining plan later right? and will i have to pay a fee to add it?

Thank you so much! I appreciate it

I believe you can still add the dining plan as long as it is not a "free dining" offer.

That is AWESOME news about your brother! :thumbsup2

Thank you so much.

This thread has sealed my decision to book our next stay at CSR. Thank you for such detailed info and photos!

I'm so glad you enjoyed the thread and it helped you make your decision. Let us know what you think after your stay, please. We take the positive and the negative.

We have been trying to research and found some good suggestions but as being first timers to coronado which building would be the best for a group of two adults and 8 year and a 2 year old to stay? Suggestions please!!!

Well, what do you want to be close to? The main building where you will find registration, the gift shop, grab & go, food court and the table service restaurant? Or the main pool?

Our personal preference is Casitas 4 and 5 -- about a five minute walk to the main building (maybe a tad longer with a two year old and little legs) and about an eight minute walk to the main pool. Casitas 4 and 5 is close to the quiet pool, the fitness center/spa, the laundry for the Casitas and also Bus Stop 2 -- the first one picked up and dropped off.

We've only stayed at CSR. But if you were comfortable with the size of the CBR, you'll be fine at the CSR as it is a tad smaller.

I think you will love having the queen beds and the kids will love the playground and pool.

You will find those who love a resort and those that hate it. It really comes down to personal taste and preference. I don't know when your friend stayed last at the CSR. I will admit the old themes of the rooms was getting "old" and definitely needed the rehab (I never had a problem with the beds). But I can tell you that the new beds are really comfortable and we fell in love with the new decor.

The dining plan can be added up to 72 hours prior to check in. As long as the price of your pkg goes up, WDW usually waives any change fees, so you should be fine.

This site is fantastic!! So full of tips and great advice! I stumbled across it while doing some research for our up coming trip to CSR. I was so excited to see the look of the new rooms! Gorgeous!!! We had booked it even though we didn't love the look of the old rooms, because it had queen sized beds, was quite reasonably priced, and had beautiful grounds. Just to verify, have ALL of the rooms been redone?
I also wondered about transportation. We have a breakfast reservation at BCR at 7:50 am on one of the days. We really wanted a character breakfast and at this late time our options were limited. What is the best way to get to BCR, and then from there to MK.
Thanks in advance, and thanks to everyone that has posted things so far.

The old rooms did not have queen beds as standard; they were added during the upgrade. Yes, all rooms were completely in September 2009. For that early of a breakfast, I would just take a cab...it won't cost you more than about $10. Once you are there and have had breakfast, just board the BC bus to the MK.

I faxed my room request yesterday! 2 days til we arrive, 3 til we check in at CSR! I'm so excited!

I am new to the disboards and am overwhelmed and impressed by the huge amount of information here. We have a trip to Coronado Springs Resort booked for 8 nights in April. We are really excited because this is the first time we’ve been able stay at a moderate resort and after reading the comments here feel lucky to have picked CSR not knowing anything about the moderates. We have two younger children and are wondering which building to request in order to be closest to the first pick-up and drop-off for Disney transportation. We come and go throughout the day and think for us it makes more sense to be closer to the bus stop and have to walk to the main pool/dig and registration building/restaurants plus it’s difficult when you’re the last one on trying to stand up while balancing yourself and holding on to a child! Any advice on which building to request and how/when to make the request would be appreciated (I’m assuming we would have to call CSR directly?). If you have any idea how far it would be to the restaurants and dig/main pool from this building that would be great too. Sorry for the long post and thanks for input from the CSR veterans and THANKS to KatMark for this board!!!

First, I would recommend Casitas 3, 4 or 5 (4 and 5 are our favorites). All three are close to Bus Stop 2 which is the first stop picked up and dropped off. Casitas 4 and 5 are close to the quiet pool as well (and laundry). We have most of the time stayed in Casitas 4 or 5. It takes me 5 minutes or so to walk to the main building (where the registration, shop, food, etc., is) and about eight mintues to the main pool. I am 50+ and walk at a normal pace.

You will need to call Central Reservations Office and have it marked on your reservation. Calling the CSR actually is just calling the CRO...they just answer the phone CSR...but they aren't really at the CSR. Does that make sense? Call Central Reservations and have the request linked to your reservation. There is no guarantee, but we've been fortunate in all of our eight stays to get the section we wanted.

Let me know if you need anything else. And welcome aboard. :cool1:

Thanks for the info on what the casitas are close to. We are staying there for the first time in June. Any other hints to be aware of?

Just booked July 21st - 31st, staying my 3rd time here, 1st time for my boys! I know they are going to fall in love with this resort just like I did :thumbsup2

I would love to book CSR for our trip if we upgrade to Mod. Right now we are booked at the POP, but free dining would make a Mod work in our budget. My 8 year old sleeps in a full size by herself!! Sharing full size beds does not appeal to me.

But CSR has NO availability during our trip dates right now. There is a convention there during that time. I assume that they have rooms blocked off for it. Does anyone have any idea how long they keep the rooms blocked off before they open them to the public again? I guess starting in October I can start checking online periodically.

Ok..Im all booked first time at a moderate after 10 years of going to Disney...staying April 14-20th...now I need to figure out my room request..will have 1 toddler and one 10 year old who of course want near the dig pool!!! Can't wait!!!!

Keep checking as often as you want online. People cancel all the time and they do unblock the rooms at some point.

If you want to be near the Dig Site and aren't worried about being near the main building, be adventurous and ask for the Ranchos; if you want to be midway between both, ask for Cabanas 8A or 8B.
