OMG Kathy! This is the first I am hearing in regards to your brother, I am sorry. I havent been on the boards in awhile (you know life is crazy sometimes and gets in the way). God Bless you and your family!:grouphug::grouphug:

Kathy, I'm so glad you got some good news. We will keep praying for him!

Yay for good news, no matter how small!

I just did online check in  9 days til we leave! I have my paper printed off so I can fax it next week. Now I need to figure out this weather and what to pack :scared1:

Thoughts and prayers for your Brother, you and your family. I'm glad to hear that he made some improvement.

Thank you all. I am happy to report that not only is my brother off the ventilator, but he had two procedures done today; there is no blood clot or tumors on/near his heart. His heartbeat is around 93 right now. He still has heart disease and will more than likely have to take medicine for the rest of his life; but hey are working on getting him stronger. Thank you for all of the love and prayers the last several days. You have been my saving grace.

Glad to hear things are going in the right direction. Continued thoughts and prayers for his recovery.

Kathy, I'm so glad to hear about your brother's improvement. That's encouraging! I hope he continues to make strides to recover. You're in my thoughts and prayers.

Meanwhile, I'm stressing over everything! I leave on Sunday for WDW and CSR! I'm looking forward to it, but not sure what to expect, weather wise. I haven't ever been to Disney when it was too cold to swim. I really hope it warms up.

I'm flipping out over my ADRs and whether I should keep them. I'm not usually so wishy washy about these things. Ugh.

Take a deep breath. Repeat after me: I AM GOING TO DISNEY! I AM GOING TO DISNEY! I AM GOING TO DISNEY! AND I'M GOING TO HAVE A MAGICAL TIME NO MATTER WHAT THE WEATHER, AND WILL LOVE MY ADR'S AND THE RESORT I HAVE CHOSEN.

Now relax and enjoy! I wish I were going with you. ;)

Forgive me for going off topic for just a moment.. can I ask for an opinion here? It's kind of a non-sequitur.

The ADR that I'm concerned about is the one I have on 3/5 at Cape May Cafe. I wanted to go there for dinner, because it's a friday during Lent and I wanted to have something meatless that I would genuinely enjoy, and crab legs fit the bill very very well. :goodvibes

However... the party consists of just me and DS6, who is autistic. His usual bedtime here at home is around 7pm. I won't be strict about this at WDW, but I won't be keeping him out super late or anything..

Point being.. our reservation is for 7:35pm. So after spending the day at DHS, we'll have to get to Beach Club for dinner at 7:35, and then go back to the park to catch the bus to CSR.

Knowing all of these factors, do you think keeping this ADR is a mistake? I'm wondering if he won't be approaching overtired status by the time we arrive at BC, much less by the time we've had dinner, then taken two buses back to our resort?

Should I try for something else?

Sorry for the long winded non sequitur. It's just that no one can appreciate the situation more than Dis Board Members. :grouphug:

Only you know how much your DS can handle. But may I make a suggestion. After DHS, take the bus to the DHS and have a nice dinner (we've always enjoyed our meals here and it is a beautiful resort). Then, instead of taking a bus back to the DHS and then to the CSR, hop in a cab. I don't think it will cost you more than $10 and I think you will relax more and be able to enjoy your meal with your son.

I'll see if I can spare the money. Things are budgeted pretty much down to my last dime for this trip. But I'll definitely consider that.

I'd also like to see if maybe they can get us in a bit earlier. They said I should try back to see if there were any cancellations.

That's always a possibility too. I would check the "online" dining reservations...I got a lot of last minute things for our mini-trip in September. And you could always call that morning and see if there is something earlier. Let us know what you decide.

For those of you who have been so generous with your prayers, we made a baby step today. My brother is off the sedation and the ventilator; he still has a breathing mask. They are taking him down for two procedures on his heart today and hopefully we will know more after those. The prayers are still needed...but as I said, we made a baby step today.

Keeping you guys in our prayers! If he's off the vent, that's a pretty big baby step.

edited: oops, I read your subsequent post later. It sounds like he's definitely going in the right direction.

I'm so glad he is improving! He is taking huge steps toward getting better. We will keep the prayers coming!

I've checked Disney online for ressies the week of Thanksgiving, and it's saying CSR is completely booked! Is this normal for so far in advance? I can't imagine too many conventions going on during a holiday.

I know that the guest rooms do not have wi-fi, but since CSR is a convention resort is there a common area accessable to anyone where wi-fi is available? TIA!

Kat, your family is in my prayers.

Well, I decided to cancel Cape May. A 7:35pm dinner reservation is just too late for us. If we were staying at BC, I would take the chance. But not when we still have to travel a while to get to our resort.

I decided we'd just spend the day at MK instead, and go to Tony's for dinner. They have a meatless dish I can eat. I looked everywhere at DHS to see if I would like anything they'd have, and I just don't.

Also, I think that one day at DHS should be enough for us. If not, maybe I'll upgrade to hoppers so we can do both.

Anyway, that's the decision. I'm just going to have to love it and deal with it. We're spending most of our time at MK. Two days at Epcot and one at DHS, and skipping AK this year. We went last year, and it was a waste for us. We spent only a half day there, and wanted to go back to the resort. So I didn't plan for that one. I think it's beautiful, but I don't mind missing a year.

I'm babbling!

Meanwhile, I'm so looking forward to CSR! I hope we get a good location! And I have to admit, I'm a little freaked by the thread about the snake found in the resort room. I don't think that was at Coronado, but STILL. ugh.

Being the only adult means that *I* would have to deal with it! Even if dealing with it means having to call for help, I don't know if I'd be able to do that.... because I might be dead of a heart attack! LOL

I just got home from the hospital. Both tests were negative on his heart (no blood clot, no tumor) and his catscan was negative for a stroke. He has been moved out of ICU and is now in the Cardiac Step Down Unit. When I got to the hospital, he was sitting up on the edge of the bed eating dinner (soup, yogurt and something else). They hope to have him up walking a few fee tomorrow morning, then more in the afternoon and again at night. They hope if they can get his strength up to have him home by Tuesday or Wednesday of next week. I am convinced that all of your prayers played a big part. Thank you.

Yay! I'm so glad he is out of ICU and in step down - that is a huge "step" in the right direction!

That is great news Kathy! Prayer is a powerful thing. I hope he continues to improve and can go home soon.

staying at CSR for first time Aug 15-23, free dining. I have read conflicting reports about the 10% charge added on at Pepper Market. We did have lunch at PM last Sept during free dining, this was my brothers resort and we wanted to check it out. We were not charged 10% charge at that time. Has anything changed for 2010? There are 7 of us and tips can get pretty expensive.

This may sound like a silly question, but if we eat inside of Pepper Market, can we get refills on our drinks? If we get pop from the fountain? My kids love the food court at Pop Century and would refill their drink that came with counter service meal. Can this be done at Pepper Market and what if we do get it to go and sit outside?:confused3
