We fly SW and the disney resorts will hold your bags even if you don't check them like for other airlines. Just go to the bell captain.

Thanks for the quick response! We are going SW so we can't check our bags. I was hoping to go to a park or DTD in the AM and didn't want to push it getting back by 11 to check out. I hope they can give us the late check out to 1 pm, that would give us some more flexibility.

We did the same thing on our last trip. We had to be on the DME bus at 2:00, so we came back at 1:00 to grab our bags. We had checked our bags through resort airline checkin that morning, so we just had carryons left in the room.

If you can be all packed, you can give everything to bell services in the morning and just plan to be gone all day.

Could someone help me out with the kinds of things available at the gift shop. I've looked at the pics on the first page but I'm interested in what kinds of meats, cheese they have as hubby is celiac and we have the dining plan but need fill in items. Planning to pack some GF crackers etc.

TIA

In terms of convention atmosphere I wanted to add that we have stayed at BWI twice and encountered many conventioneers on the BW especially at night. And we stayed at BC once and one night we couldn't hang out on the beach area because it was closed for a private convention function.

None of those spoiled our vacations so I doubt it will be an issue for us at CSR. However the week we are at the resort there is only one brief convention listed on KatMarks list... women in aviation... sounds kind of cool to me! :thumbsup2

yeh we didnt like it BUT we still had a great trip, we just know not to stay there again.I booked a trip for some friends about a month after our trip and thats where they wanted to stay but when they came back they said they HATED it also. They are a older couple and they just said they were so rude and not very disney like to them .They had alot of bags and they said they did not offer or allow anyone to take their bags to their rooms for them so it was hard for them. They wanted to change resorts but they were there at Christmas so they had nowhere else to put them.
I would still stay there if it what that or off property though! We made the best of it and learned our lesson. We are doing a "do over" and going in April to the Poly so I am good! Its all about what you like I guess...I just like the whole "i am staying at disney" feel.I even like the values, I have seen alot of complaints about the values lately but we love them also.If I had the choice I would stay at AKL everytime! lol its my fav...

Hi all, Some advice please.

My DH is a High School Teacher. One of his students says that she is going to DW in June for a dance contest. We will be there at the same time. She says that they are staying at CSR. I don't think that the actual contest is at CSR. If I have this right, they aren't listed on the conference list because the contest isn't being held there, however, they might all be staying there. As they could stay at any resort.

Do I have this right??

So, we have to decide if we want to stay at a resort if there is a possibility of him running into some of his students. Don't get me wrong. He loves his job and generally really likes his students. However, on vacation after school is out, he would like to be just a dad and not a teacher. Now, I know this resort is big, and we spend a lot of time at the parks. I don't see us eating that often at CSR. I'm not sure if we still want to stay there.

Thanks for listening. Any advice would be appreciated.

I don't think that it will matter. If the contest if off property, they should be gone from the resort. I have to add that last year, I ran into two students, one at MK and another at EPCOT. One stayed off property, one stayed on and not at my resort. Sometimes you just can't get away! This was Easter Vacation.

....my DH is a celiac also; that's one of the most important reasons why we always choose to vaca at WDW - they are especially sensitive to his dietary needs. If you have a meal plan, DEFINITELY have th CM note your ADR's, and, when your server comes to the table, just gently remind them of his special dietary needs - we found them to be VERY accomodating...I also usually bring the Thai Kitchen soup bowls. I have found them at the Christmas Store on many visits...be careful - not all of them are GF (only the Spring Onion, Mushroom, and Roasted Garlic ones are). They are great for 'in a pinch' as a snack or lite lunch!

Wow, I was just looking at room availability at CSR for our dates early to mid November and they are not showing anything at all. I know when I made my reservation last month that all the availability that was offered was a king room no view........

Just about to start packing for our return trip to CSR tomorrow!!:thumbsup2

Having problems deciding what to pack so I've been putting it off. Do I go with shorts, jeans, hats scarves and gloves:rotfl::rotfl:

Whatever I may just pack a bit of everything hopefully it will be warmer that the zero degrees we have here.
To anyone else going soon HAVE A FANTASTIC TIME!!!!!!

To everyone else with their wonderful advice thank you so much:hug:

We were at CSR in June and loved it. :cool1: I remember frantically running around the day before our departure. :scared1:Hopefully, yours will be calmer than mine was. Have lots of fun!

I don't know what the weather will bring for you since I have never been to WDW at this time. I am an overpacker too so I would probably pack shorts and a couple pair of jeans. I would also find room to squeeze in a sweatshirt and my gloves.

Has anyone heard any more new information.

Wondering if there will be a kids menu? We are thinking about changing our minds to CSR instead of WL for this Oct and may do at least 1 breakfast at Maya Grill.

...my DS and his GF are staying at CSR right now - they dined at May Grill last night and this is what they ordered:

...I believe that the front dish is a chicken dish with a chipotle sauce and the other item is beef tips on pasta....

My family and i will have our first stay at Coronado during March. I am attending a conference there and my agency allowed us to bring our family. They will be doing the parks during the day without me which is fine, I am very thankful for this trip. My question is about the other couple going with us (she has same job as me-different location). They are older, both have health issues which make it hard for them to walk a far distance. Do you have any suggestions on where i could request to stay (knowing it is only a request)? i know i have read where to fax these requests to but if you would be so kind as to give me suggestions and the fax number i would greatly appreciate it. They have never been and I am trying to make things easier on them. They will go with us to parks some nights and we will just go at their pace. Thanks in advance!

Re-posting this Anyone? Thanks

I don't remember seeing either of these things at the gift shop. You might find something at the grab and go, I think they have individuaul cheese in packages, fruit, I don't remember seeing meat unless it was in a sandwich.

I assume you are flying b/c if you were driving I expect you probably would just stop at a grocery store. It might be worth while to take a town car from the airport instead of ME just on the way there b/c most of the services allow for a grocery stop on the way. We were going to do this when we travelled with an infant to buy diapers and baby food, but then decided just to pack it.

I'm sorry I don't know about what is in the grab and go but I do know about Towncar pricing and wanted to share that info. My family is flying into MCO (this Sat.) and staying at CSR (first time). We are taking Tiffany Towncar, the cost is $109 plus tips round trip from airport to resort. There is a $5 off coupon on their website. You may have a complementary 30 min. grocery stop on your way to the resort. We have used Tiffany a couple of other times and had good experiences. There are other towncar companies that are similar prices and grocery stops.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Disney momto2 and vicb! Just wanting everyone to stay healthy and avoiding wheat is DH way to health. He carries an epi pen.

Sure it has come up before...but anyone know what kind of Soda/Juice is on the fountains for the refillable mugs?

Call ahead of time and have everything specially prepared for him... DS4 has allergies to numerous things (including wheat) and LOVES Disney because he can't eat just like the rest of us!

I would also like this info. In fact, if anyone has a photo it would be awesome. Also, is the choices at the grab and go fountain the same as at poolside, or any differences there. Something I read somewhere gave me the impression that the mugs are maybe .50 cheaper poolside? That sounds silly, right? Also, I was given the impression by another thread that the choices available at CBR fountains are different at CSR. Specifically, that there are no lemonade or hi c choices here at CSR. Any CSR drink fountain specialists out there?:3dglasses
