We've been POFQ and POR faithfuls and have nothing but good things to say about those resorts. For our February '06 trip with my sister's family, we'll stay 5 nights at Poly. DD and I want to go down a couple days earlier and thought we'd like to try out CSR. We've looked at various sites, photos, etc., but would appreciate hearing first hand experiences with CSR.

Thanks so much!

I too am a long term POR guest, but every so often do CSR. It's totally different - you may miss the trees, etc at first.

The benefit is that as a convention resort, a lot of guests are not there for Disney at all (gasp!) so the busses can be a lot emptier, and it's a little quieter.

It's definely a personal taste thing, but I prefer it to CBR.....

Love :cloud9: Coronado! It is my favorite moderate so far (haven't stayed at FQ yet).

The pool is HUGE and so much fun. The food court is festive and has lots of great food. The grounds are great.

If it wasn't for this weird quirk I have where I have to stay at all the resorts on property, I would be staying here a lot.

We stayed at Coronado last July and loved it. The grounds are really beautiful and the rooms were very clean. Some people complain about the walk to the main building but we didn't think it was a problem at all (We were in Ranchos). Food court was very good. And we never waited longer than 10-15 minutes for a bus. We would definitely stay there again.

We also have stayed at Port Orleans. I think you will enjoy Coronado just as much - just different theming!

Enjoy! :cool1:

Thanks. Do any of you feel that we should request Ranchos, Casitas, or [I can't think of the 3rd name]? I don't mind going with a luck of the draw unless there is a real downside to a particular area.

Walking to the main building isn't a problem. We need the exercise!

I have stayed at all 3
Love the Poly...... :earsboy:
Most Poly people will enjoy POR more as they are both very relaxed.
the food court good at CSR but as for the rest
I did not find anything that would make me want to stay there again
it is worth the experience but it is not anything like POR
if you are one that can be disappointed then I would say change to POR
but if you liks to see different things and are open to newer style resorts then by all means you have made the right choice. ::MickeyMo

I was one of the people who thought "I don't like Southwest theming, I don't think I'll like CSR" and I was really wrong.

We stayed there in July of 2003 and really loved the resort, so much that we said if we go back and can't afford a deluxe of DVC point rental, we'd instantly choose CSR. The resort feels more like a deluxe to use than the other mods and the theming is really nice, more Spanish or Mexican theming, IMO.

We really enjoyed the pool area and the Pepper Market was terrific!

Ditto! I loved it! We stayed in the Cabanas (9b) and I loved opening the front door every morning and seeing Lago Dorado.

It is a very nice resort. It's a little spread out, so sometimes walking back to the room from the bus stop can be a pain, but I understand that the resort now has golf carts roaming around to give guests a free ride! Whoo-hoo!

We liked the quiet pools and the main pool. The main pool was big and had a nice slide for the kids. We enjoyed Pepper Market, but were not big fans of Maya Grill.

My wife and I loved the hammocks! :)

I've been there twice. I love the resort--theming/food court/grounds/pools/rooms etc. Had a great experience the first time around...second we encountered a few mishaps on the first day that started us out a sour note. Rude CM's and dirty rooms. A fluke I'm sure--the rest of the week went fine.

Both times we stayed in the Cabana section and a very short walk to main pool and food court.

Its our favorite disney resort. The kids love the dig site. the food is great and its a clean, clean, clean resort. there is so much to do there. Im so disappointed I wasnt able to get a fla rate or ap rate this summer for our trips. Its hardly every crowded at the pool.

Hey I was there last July 1-12 in Ranchos...

I didn't like it though! The grounds are beautiful but, we had a couple too many problems! We walked in the room dirty towels all over the bathroom floor...which probably meant the room wasn't cleaned properly. Next the lights over the mirror were burnt out (which should have been replaced when the room was cleaned). I called to have this taken care of and it took about 2 hours for them to come. Next we requested a refrigerator and we didn't get it until the next day am (yes, I called several times but they said they were too busy). Also, I was charged for that day! The ice machine was broken the entire stay! No major problems but, a lot of little things add up to a sour attitude. Like I said the grounds are pretty and the pool is cool!

We stayed at CSR for the first time this past November. The main pool was great. My kids enjoyed the slide and also playing in the sand area. Nice big hot tub also :) We stayed in Casitas. It was a bit of a walk to the Dig Site. The property looks gorgeous at night. All in all it was a fine stay.

CSR rocks! Its out favorite resort. Everytime I try to suggest another place my DD doesn't want tostay anywhere else

We loved CSR! The resort is absolutely beautiful and the pool area and food court are fantastic!! :flower:

Based on the number of great threads regarding CSR; I've switched from POR to CSR. Problem is determining which location. We're a party of 6
mom, grandma, 4 boys(14,13,8,9). Want to be near bus and video arcade, pool, food court, etc. ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

The cabanas are a great location but at waterview rooms. With the new internal shuttle service being offer at CSR, it makes being anywhere a great spot. The shuttles will bring you to and from your room and the main building. Watch for new pics on my CSR website once I return home from CSR.

I have nothing but good things to say about CSR. I have never stayed at POR, and would like to in the future, but plan on staying at CSR again! We like CSR alot better than CBR. Just my opinion though :flower:

We were just there last Tuesday and Wednesday nights. We thought the hotel was beautiful. The front desk people were very nice. We hated Pepper market. The food was good, the service sucked. We had 3 waters and an apple juice. After the drinks were brought we never saw her again. More water would have been nice. The place was dead. I don't mind the tip being added on, but I would like my glass refilled. We tried to eat at Maya Grill but after standing at the hostess stand for ten minutes with no one talking to us we left.

We loved the view at night. We could see both Illuminations and Wishes from outside our door.
