Last september we were at disney and we got a Bounce Back Offer for Free Dining. so we will be at Coronado Springs from Dec 9 -14th. The only other moderate choice was the Caribean. Now both will be under construction during the time of our visit. I called Disney and they didn't seem to be able to do anything, i was given the following options:
  • Upgrade to animal kingdom lodge for $1100
  • Move to a pirate room at Caribbean which is still under construction.
  • Downgrade to a Value Resort, this would also downgrade our Free Dining (we still have the Table service one)
  • Stay at the Coronado and pay rack rate for a place that is under construction
any suggestions? should i expect a better option?

Well the new Free Dining is only QSDP for moderates so you as a Bounceback are in way better shape than most. I would stay.

Your dining at CSR are not impacted by any construction unlike CBR which has a limited menu in a tent.

The construction will be over by where the Cabanas they tore down, and into the lake area but I bet that is last.

I would request Ranchos for more peace and visual avoidance of the area (which is my favorite anyway) and all rooms may be renovated by then.

With your package I would absolutely stay put.

I would not upgrade for that much, I certainly wouldn't downgrade to Pirates or a Value.

whatever happened to the $25 per night gift cards they were giving out due to construction.

Gone, was only to pacify those booked.
Now everyone is booking "with knowledge" and paying full price for a shortchanged resort.
No way I would stay there without big gift cards or big discounts.
It is going to be WAY more impacted than CSR.

Stay at CSR with BB. The work so far is not disruptive (and probably won't be until the tower starts going up).

I concur with HopperFan about sticking with CSR. At least the amenities aren't completely impacted there. It might not be my first choice to stay where there is construction but I would probably consider booking CSR if I were vacationing again this year. I would certainly not give up CSR to stay at CBR which -from what I understand - is much more heavily impacted by the construction.

We are staying at CSR in late December and have a preferred room which I've read is in the Casitas section. Does anyone know if that area is impacted by the renovations?

im going to keep calling back every couple of weeks, maybe i'll hit the lottery :-). but ill be sticking with CSR, i really haven't ever had a bad stay there.

Other than if there are room renovations happening there at the time, the major construction will be across the lake from there. This map shows where the tower, the connection to El Centro, the floating gardens etc will happen. Not sure where the "bridges" will all be located in connection with the "floating gardens" and "island".

Maybe I can convince them to give me a room in Casitas building 1
