Going back to WDW in October to use AP's before they expire - will be very much a budget trip. We decided to go back to ASMo as we'll already have been to POP (and WL) in July. However noticed that the difference in AP rates between value and moderate is only $22 per night (July rates) and for 7 nights, if a similar rate came out in October, this may not be so bad.

I do like ASMo - it is so DISNEY and my DD really wants to re-visit but quite fancy giving CSR a try. Have been to POFQ and whilst it was a pretty resort, felt it didn't feel very DISNEY. Also a little worried that October is a big conference month and CSR attracts a lot of conferencees (sp?).

I would appreciate the views of anyone who has stayed at CSR (especially those who can compare it with a value resort).

CSR is a great resort. You'll get the pool with a slide, largest hottub on WDW property, the pool bar and snack food stand. Check out my website below for pics, links and info

The price difference between the value and moderate resorts is usually always in the $20 - $25 range. The difference for 7 nights with tax would be about $170.00 more for CSR. If it is really a budget trip, that $170 could buy a few meals or maybe splurge on one fancy meal or a couple character meals.
I liike CSR very much and it is a step up from the value resorts. It is also our favorite moderate resort. But if I was trying to keep the price of the trip down, I would go with the value resort.
As for themiing, CSR is themed beautifully but it is not Disney theming like the ASMo is. It is a Southwestern type theming, which is done very well. If you decide to stay there, do not worry about the conventioneers. You usually only see them around El Centro during the day, all talking on cell phones. They will not bother you or take away from the atmosphere, at all.
