Trying to decide between a standard room at Coronado springs or a standard room at pop? Will be traveling with 2 kids ages 5 & 7. Thank you!

I believe POP has standard size beds and I know Coronado has queen - that may make for better sleeping - plus Coronado rooms are bigger. Our last several trips have been in moderates and then this past November my son and I spent a night at a Value (All Star Music) and while it was fine for just the two of us for one night - we said there was no way we would do a value with all four of us - just too small - room and beds.

POP
value resort
rooms 260 sq ft
full beds
counter service restaurant only
pools/no slides
walk across lake to AoA
lower price
good bus only transportation/ one stop
nice views from lake facing standard rooms
personal favourite value resort

CSR
moderate convention resort
rooms 314 sq ft
queen beds
counter and table service dining
fabulous pool area/ great slide/ large hot tub
salon/spa/fitness
quiet pools
beautiful theming/landscaped grounds
romantic walk around lake at night
Business class rooms available for extra cost
good bus only transportation (4 stops)
wonderful views os lake, nice garden views
personal favourite moderate

we love both resorts. If price is comparable or not an issue, we always choose moderate over value. We like the extra spce, queen beds and overall theming better. Pools with slides are very nice for down time. We aren't big food court fans.

Good luck choosing!

Thank you! It's a 600$ difference so I was trying to figure out if it is worth it! ,I am concerned with the size of Coronado springs and the buses

We said at CSR shortly after the rehab of the rooms and they are beautiful. The main pool is fantastic for kids as well and it is huge! It is a large resort but you can check out the resort map and request a building close to a bus stop. We never had to wait to long for a bus either. I have not stayed at POP. Enjoy you DISNEYVACAY!

I've stayed at both. I like the food court/gift shop at Pop and the overall theming is fun and eye-popping.

I like the pool, landscaping, and rooms better at Coronado. Plus, the bus service should be more calm, if you will. The resort is not as big and since it's a convention hotel, less families are there.

I you can afford the extra $$, I'd say Coronado.

If the $600 is in your budget I would go for CSR. Your kids will love the pool and slide. Coronado Springs is a great resort with some of the best bus service at Disney. We always request the Cabanas section, building 8A. It is close to the main pool, the quiet pool in the Ranchos section, bus stop #4 (which is the 3rd stop on the loop), and not too far from the lobby. The buildings in the Cabanas area are only two floors tall so we never have to use the elevator if we are on the second floor. Ask for a corner room. Some of them have two windows. Don't worry about is being a convention resort. If there are conventions scheduled the conventioneers are usually not going to the parks in the morning or using the pools during the day.

If the $600 is going to stretch your budget too thin then go with POP. Probably one of the best values for buses. I don't like to have to worry about spending while at Disney. If having that extra $600 in your pocket gives you some peace of mind then it would be worth it to stay at POP. Your kids will love it wherever you stay. It's Disney World.

Cheers and have fun!!!!

We just got back from a trip to CSR, it was our first trip there, we liked it. We stayed there because it was $400 cheaper than our favorite moderate Port Orleans Riverside. We had no problems with conventioners or buses or the size of the resort. Were not impressed with food court at CSR. We have stayed at Pop, it is the best of the value resorts, had no problems with buses or groups there either.

For $600 savings, I would certainly have considered swapping to Pop. Main pros for CSR would be larger rooms/beds, better main pool, more sit down dining options, and better landscaping.

i've stayed at POP and CSR.
i HATE HATE HATE CSR!
- i hated how crowded the main pool was
- i hated the service at the restaurants. the waiters/waitresses were quite rude.
- i hated the buses. we waited for 45 minutes for an epcot bus to come (we were waiting at the first stop to ensure we'd get on and not passed over due to there being no more room). 5 AK buses came and we finally told that bus driver no epcot bus had come yet so they called in to see where one was and it wasn't gonna be there for a while so they took us instead since there were plenty of AK buses to go around.

on the other hand i LOVE LOVE LOVE POP!
- the theme is cute
-i like the variety of music played
- the hippie dippy pool is crowded but not too bad and i like the bowling pin pool best anyways.
- there is a wide variety of food options including tie-dye cheese cake which is only available at POP.
- the buses are efficient
-it costs significantly less than CSR

I love CSR! i was there 2 weeks ago, and had a great stay. The bus service was wonderful, we (my nephew and I) never waited over 15 minutes for a bus, and we took afternoon breaks every day over 7 days, so that is a lot of bus rides. We never went to the main pool, but the quiet pool near our room was never anywhere near crowded. At most I saw 5 people in it. My only negative was the one time we used the food court, the service was slow.

If it doesn't stretch your budget I would always recommend CSR over any value. It has a much more relaxed feel, has a spa and fitness center, and great bus service.

I have to second the comments about the slow service at the CSR food court. We went on a Sunday around 1:30pm, the place looked abandoned. The few people working there were in slow motion. Instead of waiting for the food we wanted, we went to plan B and just grabbed whatever they had sitting out, otherwise we might still be there.

With the ages of your kids, I would choose Pop. It is a smaller resort which huge colorful icons and an "easy" food court with many good options.
