we are looking to book a few days in August and CS had a good AP rate but said construction starting Fall 2018, main pool and everything around it, food, playground, arcade closed for refurb.
Anyone know when this starts?
We are looking to go Mid August

It's currently scheduled to be closed September 4th - December 12th.

Yep, I booked a stay in mid September. Had no idea the pool would be closed when I booked--they announced after I booked.

We are looking at CS too for early August, (we are always last minute planners) and from everything I've read and seen, looks like the pool will still be open up until 9/4, disney is saying it will be done in December but I doubt that. As far as I can tell, it's a refurbishment to the pool and other dig site amenities.

Oh and from everything I've been researching, if we book, I'm going to try for a renovated, top floor room in the casitas building 4 or 5 I think (closer to the bus and dig site). I've read lot of guests have complained that the new vinyl flooring is very loud. I'm still questioning if we'll stay, but the promo is pretty good right now.

We’re also doing an early August short trip to Coronado (actually a kid-free trip!!), and we’re also requesting the refurbished rooms. The pictures look nice. We stayed one night in a refurbished room in Pop this April, and I really liked the room - thought the flooring was nice. Coronado was only a small jump in price over Pop though (and my wife wasn’t a big fan of the theming at Pop), so that’s why we went with that.

We stayed for the first time this past April (in Casitas). I liked the Casitas theming more than I expected- so pretty and very pleasant. We didn't take advantage, but there are areas for sitting alongside lago dorado in the evening and having refreshments (or not) that the two of you might enjoy. Have fun. I can't wait to go back!
