Cornhole

Our church has a cornhole tournament and we can get 50 sets of boards and 100+ teams on a Sunday afternoon. It is HUGE in KY.

I lived in NE Ohio for 30 years and never heard of it. Once we moved to KY, I bought a set of boards quickly. It's a great game that everyone can enjoy.

I like jarts too and still have a set in the garage. Nobody has poked an eye out yet.

Oh
My
GAWD!

:lmao:

I'm 42 years old just last weekend heard of cornhole! We went to a graduation party in Cincinnati and someone mentioned they had cornhole set up in the yard. I almost died laughing. I told them I refused to play on general principle of the name.

Oh, and just heard of hillbilly golf last weekend too, but at a different party.

a friend of mine son made her a set for her birthday last year. I told me don't ever google Cornhole. He was looking for the dimesions:lmao:

Here in Massachusetts, my DH's family plays cornhole. My DH even made 2 sets just last week - I was the lucky one filling those cornbags with actual corn from my new 50 lb. bag of feed corn. Never thought I'd be doing that! It's a fun game and can be played by "kids" of all ages.

OMG we play cornhole here in NYC ... Yup well we actually play at a beach house on the NJ shore twice a year we have a huge party we go to and we play for HOURS ... So no it is not just an Ohio thing ....

I think it was originally called cornhole. Around here, Chicago, we just call it bags. It's pretty popular. A lot of bars have tournaments. We have a wacko neighbor who actually practices out in front of his house.

I always thought it was a camping thing. We have played cornhole for years while camping, so much fun!

Well, I have spent my whole damn life in Ohio, so maybe it is an Ohio thing...but, yeah, that's what we call it.

Cornhole is easy and fun and can be played with a drink in your hand. Grill some burgers, open the beer (for those who like beer), play some cornhole and you've got yourself an afternoon with your pals.

I never heard of it as cornhole until I moved to Ohio and it's just one more reason I think these people up here are nuts NVTS, nuts!
You're my "How in the hell can I be living in this God-forsaken city?" Cleveland pal, right? Am I wrong? Is that someone else? If so, this is for you. :)

This is the second of two, but I can't post the first one because it has a bad word in it.

I'm in SE Wisconsin. I had never heard of it until we went to a party at my sister's house (also in SE Wisconsin, about 30 minutes away).

The subdivision she lives in has kornhole tournaments a few times a year.

I also think cornhole is more popular in Ohio than other states. Our relatives in Michigan know of it, but a similar game using washers (holy board?) is more popular than bean bags. Our PA, IN and KY friends were not familiar with cornhole.

Well. You can say, "I need TP for my bunghole!!"

Are you threatening me?:rotfl2:
