Is this an Ohio thing? And why did they rename Bean Bag Toss, Cornhole? That name just sounds bad to me. Back to your regular Dis'ing....

We had it in Indiana, too, so I don't think it's just an Ohio thing. The first time someone came into the store where I worked and asked if we had cornhole, I was so confused. :confused3 I still call it bean bag toss.

I always heard it called Cornhole, and just in the past few years have seen it called bean bag toss.

I did hear it was started in southern Ohio, but don't know if that is true or not. We love to play it, it's a lot of fun at family get togethers and stuff like that.

We also play Hillbilly golf. I don't know if that is a southern Ohio thing also. I saw it in a store the other day called Ladder golf.

I hate it, no matter what you call it.

I suppose it is safer than Jarts, but not nearly as interesting. :)

I just looked at Wikipedia...it has rules and scoring?! I always thought bean bag toss was a kids game~I've seen adults playing cornhole but had no idea it had rules!

Why is it so popular? Didn't Toss Across take more skill? :rotfl:

I've lived in a lot of states and never heard of Cornhole until I moved to Ohio.
We don't know anyone in Ohio who DOESN'T play it, at least in my neighborhood. Last year when we were in the Outer Banks, we made it a point to ask whoever we saw playing Cornhole where they were from...I think like, 9 out of 10 said Ohio!

They are now calling it Cornhole here in NC also. I've never played it though. We always just called it "That Game Where You Throw The Beanbags". Not cornhole - that is not a good name here in NC!

I never heard of cornhole. This is what comes to mind.
I am cornholio!

:lmao:I thought of something else completely when I saw the word cornhole:lmao:

I just call it bean bag toss and don't really know anyone who does it except for kids

We live in Kentucky and play it a lot. In fact we got a hand made cornhole set as a wedding gift a few years ago.

It's fun! Like many games, I get better at it after a few beers! ;)

OH HELL NO....I'm so out of here:lmao: Good luck with your corn holes:thumbsup2

While growing up, I lived in PA and was about half an hour from Ohio. I had never heard of cornhole until I went to college at Ohio State. I think every off campus house had that game.

I never heard of it as cornhole until I moved to Ohio and it's just one more reason I think these people up here are nuts NVTS, nuts!

Me, too.

I'd like to say the sentence that comes after "I am cornholio" but I don't want any DIS points.:happytv:

Well. You can say, "I need TP for my bunghole!!"

I refuse to call it "cornhole," it's a beanbag toss. I had never heard this term anyway until we were on a cruise a few years ago. DH and I were looking at the daily activity itinerary and he got all excited because after I told him what "Friends of Bill" stood for, he figured out "Friends of Dorothy" all on his own. He started howling and laughing because right after the "F.O.D." meeting, there was a "Cornhole Competition." Yes, he's immature...but I love him anyway.
