I was told that all the oil onsite (including DTD restaurants) is some kind of vegetable oil. Disney won't let them use lard at Totilla Joe's - they have to use the vegetable oil like everyone else on disney property.

The DLH TV channel shows how they then re-use the frying oil to power the vehicles and trains, etc. on property.

Sorry, don't know which vegetable oil is used but it's plant based oil, not animal fat if that's what you want to know.

Interesting, I didn't know that. Thanks!

I wonder if the popcorn is the same? At WDW, the popcorn is popped in a combo coconut/veg oil......my DD is allergic to coconut so she can't have the popcorn. It would be great if she can have it a DL.

The question may be more about whether it's nut-based oil like peanut oil due to allergy concerns.

I don't what kind of oil they are fried in, but my peanut-allergy son ate them with no problem.

I can only imagine how delicious they would be if they were fried in lard. Ahhh, memories of my childhood -- everything fried in lard --- so yummy.

No allergies here, just a corn dog addict from DLR that wants to try and make her own version of this wonderful creation from home.

We believe that if peanut oil is in use that they would have a posting stating so,with all the allergies associated with peanuts,at least we would hope, but it always pays to ask.
