I would love to pick up some wine at AKL to sip by the pool in the evening but that brings up the problem of how will I open it. Is a corkscrew allowed on board the plain in our checked luggage? If not, any suggestions for opening the bottle?
I believe they may be allowed in your carryon, but I wouldn't count in getting it past the TSA so just stick it in the checked bags. (Reminded me to add that to my Dec packing list! :jumping4: )
OOPS! I just realized that I spelled plane wrong. Anyway, thanks for the reply. I was not aware that housekeeping could meet that need so I think that I will go that route. If they don't have one, I will buy one and take it home in my checked luggage!
At the Poly last year, we bought some wine in the gift/snack shop, and the guy behind the counter opened it for us, I think.
Or, if you are taking it by the pool (keep in mind, they prob. won't want glass anywhere near the pool), if the pool bar is open, the bartender may do it for you.
I always take one in my carry on. They are allowed as long as it does not have the tiny knife for cutting off the wrapper. The wing kind is what I take. And if you do forget, call room service and specifically ask for a winged one and they will bring it. They will also bring an extra ice bucket.
Corkscrews are allowed in both carry on and checked.
