We may buy some wine at DTD while we are at POR. How can we get it open--ask at the pool bar, bring a corkscrew from home, or something else?

We make sure to pack a travel corkscrew in our checked bags at all times ever since one time we purchased a bottle of wine from the Italy pavilion and had no means to open it other than shell out $8 for a corkscrew at the resort gift shop. We have just left it in our suitcases for every time we travel!

They should open it at the pool bar for you, but how far away from the pool bar will your room be? Better to pack your own.

As long as your corkscrew does not have a knife you can carry it on the plane. I have one in my carry-on that goes with me everywhere

It might depend which airport you are flying from and which TSA agent checks your bags. I recently had a corkscrew that was in my carry-on confiscated because the TSA agent said it could be used as a weapon.

I am planning on bringing one from home. Why leave it to chance is my feeling on the matter. And its so small to pack too. Not that I wouldn't mind a Disney themed corkscrew... hhmm I see a souvenir purchase in my future!! Anyone know what they look like that you get at the gift shops?

One year our friends had arranged a bottle of wine to be sent to our room for our anniversary. We never even thought about a corkscrew and went to open it one evening and realized we couldn't. DH called the front desk to inquire and someone brought a corkscrew right to our room for us :)

The hotel has them and will give you one if you request it. They'll deliver it to the room. We've done this multiple times!

Yep! Had them delivered lots of times. Last year we did the F&W premium package that included a bottle of wine. No corkscrew. They delivered it no problem. We gave them our feedback, maybe the package this year will have a cool F&W corkscrew. Either that or a screw top wine.

We bought one while at WDW. Obviously disney themed which makes it that much more special. My DW always buys some of the Disney wine "Once upon a Vine".
