Cork for your Pin Books ?

For those of you in search of cork.....

I found the identical pack of four 12x12 1/4" thick sheets at Office Depot.

Price is slightly higher than Walmart.....$8.97 at Office Depot v. $6.97 at Walmart.

I found the package right alongside the other cork boards, white boards, bulletin boards, etc.

Got the cork cut, and got one of my pin bags re-arranged last night. Man am I ever excited about how well this works. Pins tend to stay in place, and for some reason, I seem to be getting more pins on a page than before. I still have a couple that don't want to stay attached, but they are usually larger or musical or light-up pins.

The cork also tends to hold the pockets of the Disney Store pin bag in place. Those that have that bag know that the opening seems to be ont he wrong side of the bag and the "pages" fall down tot he middle of the bag and bunch up. The cork makes it so they don't do that. I had resisted the Musical Moments pin bag at TDS because of that, but may have to re-think the situation.

Kudos to whoever the person was that came up with this cork idea.

I'm not even sure I remember the first time I saw a pin book with cork in it.

I know that I was finally impressed when I saw it in one of the full size Disney bags at the Cotemporary in June. I know it was a DIS member, but I am not certain of his name. He had a lot of old small pins, and it was so easy for him to pull one out, stick it back, pull out another, etc.

I also have to agree with the suggestion about the cork stabilizing the pages of those pin bags that have the handles on the "wrong" side.

I credit Raul (Ed) with the first I saw with cork in the pinbook

Suzanne,

Please provide dates, location, the names and blood types of two reliable (yes, I said <i>reliable</i> ) witnesses, and photos or videos with captions and/or subtitles in the three recognized languages of pintrading: Japanese, French, and ASL.

Your submission is due within seven pindays (only days on which Disney officially releases new LE pins are counted), at PCH (<i>Pinbook Cork Headquarters</i>, of course :smooth: ), and must be delivered by an <b>E-Ticket Virgin</b> over the age of 55. :p

A unanimous opionion of the PCH College of Corkology and Foamiologicity is required to validate your submission. All decisions are final, but may be influenced by promises of future mystery pin trades, betrothals to Merchandising CMs, or bequests of pin collections. :teeth:

ROTFL, Robyn!!!! I'm afraid I can't fill all the criteria you list for verification of ED being the FIRST with cork in his pin book pages, but he WAS the first person I SAW with said cork in the pinbook!!!
:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
