Coral Reef?

We were there last month, first time in 11 years for us. The nieces were not happy with their food at all....cant say I blame them as the pizza was just a pita covered in sauce and cheese.

DH was not happy with the NY Strip but I loved my sauteed grouper.

I have a ton of pics and the new menu in my Jan link

We made a PS for that place too that will be our first time. I've never wanted to pay to go there since it's pretty expensive, but since we are doing the dining plan, I thought we could try it.

I've always wanted to go there ever since I saw on Full House they ate there when they went to Disney World.

Did anyone have any good experiences? I hope so...

We were there last fall and loved it! The food was good and so was the service. Go and enjoy!

It is one of the places we go on every single trip. It is DD's now 15 favorite place to eat.
We have had some amazing meals and some okay meals. The kids meals are nothing to write home about. Alot of our okay experiences have had to do with the staff...just not into there job. I have never had bad food.
Just remember that not everybody can be seated right beside the fish tank! I know that alot of people are dissapointed when they are seated on the second level. However when we have been seated here I have always been able to see what is in the tank......it is just not 6" from my face!!!:rotfl:

We were there last month and enjoyed the restaurant. I had the NY Strip and have no complaints. We'll do this place again in the future.

We were here last August. Food was very good & the Atmospohere is nice.

We ate here in 2006 and 2008 and meal was great and service was great also. The first time I had 3 kids with strep throat with one of them asleep at the table. The waiter suggested that I order her a kids meal in case she awoke as the restaurant was very busy and he was afraid she was going to wake when our food arrived at our table and the kitchen might be slow on getting her her food at that point. I ordered her a kids meal, she never woke up. He boxed it up for her in case she wanted after we left and then proceeded to tell me that he was not going to charge us the TS for her meal!!! Which made us very happy since she did not eat which meant a better tip for him!!! It was our anniv. in 2008 and they gave us comp. Champagne toast!!!

I've eaten here at least a dozen times in the past decade, most recent visit was 3 weeks ago. This is one of the places that I think has suffered greatly with the dining plan. They are always behind on their seating, the service is always slow, the restaurant is usually very crowded and noisy, and the selections on the menu have been made much smaller and generic. Many dissers have commented on small portions but I think the portions are decent sized.

When we go now, we always get the first ADR when they open for lunch. That way we are usually seated close to scheduled time and for at least the first part of the meal, it's not so noisy.

The food is just okay, some dishes are much better than others. Their fish dishes are all way oversauced, so much so that you can't taste the fish. The mahi mahi is the best of them as the sauce is a bit milder at least.

The restaurant is very pretty and the fish tank is spectacular.

We were at Coral Reef during our last trip last year. The food is great and planning to go back again. :thumbsup2

Have a nice day to all. :)

we ate there last October. We noticed a little bit of a wait and the restaurant was not busy yet. other than that - service was excellent and our food was excellent too. We were so delighted with that meal, we made sure we added lunch reservations for our April trip. The portions were perfectly sized for us. we were on the DxDP.

We were there over Christmas/NY. The steak was tender and tasty (2 orders) and the kids were happy with their meals. The desserts were great too! Only complaint...they were running at least 30 minutes behind and the CMs at the desk seemed very short-tempered. The server was plesant.

we were there for lunch in Jan 2009...had tilapia & mahi-mahi. Very good!

And wonderful desserts, too...

We were there a couple weeks ago. The atmosphere was nice. Food was good, but pricey. I dont think I would go here without the dining plan. If you are on the dining plan, does this place just take 1 credit?

Yup, Coral Reef is 1TS per person. Its our first stop when we get in this Sunday. I have a 130pm ADR and we LAND at 945am. Cutting it close maybe.. but it was all they had.

thanks! I think I will add this back to the list.
might be cutting it close... but I think you will be fine. Enjoy!

I had the chicken breast with spaetzel. I still have no idea what spaetzel is, but I loved it:lmao:

We always have a wait of at least 30 min. The last time we were there i noticed the carpet was filthy! The staff was not at all that great. The crab bisque is the worst I have ever had. We will go back because we love sea food but we will plan on a long wait. I hope the carpet has been cleaned!
