FONT="Comic Sans MS"][/FONT] May be trying Coral Reef. How is it? Have dining plan and want to try something different while at Epcot. Any other suggestions?

I would say try it. As far as the atmosphere, it is great. As far as the food I would say it is pretty good. Nothing fabulous or out of this world but not horrible either.

We loved it!!! We will definitely be going back! All of the food we had was great and the atmosphere was wonderful!! DS18 thought it was the best food at WDW! He loved the creme brule. I don't think it could be beat for all around a great place to eat at EPCOT!

We ate at Coral Reef last week and really enjoyed it. I had the grilled mahi mahi which was amazingly tasty and DH had the pork. The restaurant is quiet, service was excellent and watching the fish is really fun! The only other restaurant we went to was Akershus, for my DD to see the princesses so it might not be the place for you. But the food was really good there too!

LOVED IT:love: I HAD READ SO MANY MIXED REVIEWS BUT IT WAS GREAT! I LEARNED THAT YOU HAVE TO TRY THINGS FOR YOURSELF,WELL THE STEAK WAS GREAT AND THE MAUI MAUI WAS WONDERFUL,I THINK THAT THE FOOD IS GOOD BUT THE PORTIONS ARE NOT THE BIGGEST COMPARED TO WHAT WDW GIVES YOU AT OTHER RESTAURANTS, I LIKE TO EAT AND THIS WAS ENOUGH FOR ME,IT IS NOT TO HEAVY,AND IN THE HEAT IT WAS A GREAT LUNCH. WOULD I DO IT FOR DINNER NO,BUT FOR LUNCH IT WAS GREAT A MUST DO!

We loved it and are going back this next trip. My dh got the crab legs and loved them.

We loved it back in 2003. We are having our first dinner there in November. I have already aranged for a diver. Can't wait!

We were there this past August. DH and I had the NY Strip while our DD tried Mahi Mahi for the first time. Everything was cooked to perfection. :thumbsup2 You can't beat the atmosphere. :cool1:We'll be going back next year. :woohoo:

We tried it last summer for the first time and we had such a good meal here. DH has already put it on our list for next summer. Great food, great atmosphere!

Why wouldn't you go to CR for dinner? Just curious, because we're going for dinner next month. It will be our 1st time eating there.

I think you should go to the Coral Reef and I do not think you will be disappointed. You can even get a personalized menu for special occasions.

This is when I get to be the different one and say we didn't like it at all. It was a handful of years ago now mind you. But we said we'd never go back. The portions were tiny, I got grilled shrimp of some sort and there were about 5 on the plate. Very fancy and pretty, but we paid about $40 for those few shrimp. I can't remember what hubby got, but also small and expensive. We left there broke and stared. Hours later we were eating chicken fingers or something cheap to fill us up. The atmosphere is really neat and if we'd have been on the free dining or something we would have been fine. It just didn't seem worth the price to us. We prefer to spend the same kind of money and eat at Biergarten where there is a show and buffet.... or Garden Grill where it's all you can eat family style and characters... something like that.

I do agree it's a find out for yourself kind of thing though. You don't know until you try it and it looks like I'm in the serious minority here. So let us know what you think after you try it!!!

We ate there a few weeks ago and I'll admit I was a bit nervous going in after hearing mixed reviews but we loved it! My mahi mahi was delicious and my mother enjoyed her catfish also. The kids also really enjoyed their lobster bisque app. which was a nice change from the usual choices. The chocolate wave and mango sorbet were superb!

The Chocolate Wave dessert is unbelievably good - heaven on a plate

Tarhill I dont think that there is anything wrong with dinner, but for me the portions at lunch were not the biggest which in fact it was enough but if the portions are like the lunch then for me and the way that I like to eat it just may not be enough now take in mind that I am not crazy about the appys nor the dessert, so for me I am just eating the entree,so it really would not be enough for me at dinner now when I went for lunch I had the steak and it was great but not huge, but when I went to Lecelliar I did not have an appy nor room for dessert when I ate the Mushroom Filet and risotto, the portions are much bigger at LeCelliar,so I would choose to eat my entree at Lecelliar for dinner and my entree at Coral Reef for Lunch thats all Enjoy your dinner the place is great!!!

Thanks for the explanation. :) The smaller portion should work for me, because dessert is one course I NEVER miss. :rolleyes1 My DH & DS always order appys & most of the time desserts too. I'm glad to see portion size was your biggest complaint. I can see why that would really make a difference to someone who doesn't like appys or desserts.
