Hey I'm new to the Dis Resturant Board -- I normally hang out over @ the Disney Cruise Line Board -- but I just had to pop over here & see what is going on & find out what your opinion is about the Coral Reef Resturant ??? My Dh & I have always wanted to eat there and we are going to go to Disney for 2 days after our 9/16-9/23 Double Dip Cruise. We were planning on eating there on 9/23 & then a late seating @ Liberty Tree on 9/24 --- because of the EMH @ the Magic Kingdom that night. But I just wanted to get your reviews on CR & how do you feel about their prices ---are they worth it -- or is it covered by the DDP ?? My Dh & I were looking into doing the DDP those 2 days & I wasn't sure if CR was on the DDP or not ??? Any opinions, help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated -- and Please be honest on your reviews --- we only have 2 nights & want to eat @ 2 good places while we're there.

Coral Reef is on the dining plan, 1 TS credit, and we ate lunch there on Saturday for the first time. We enjoyed it very much and the food was really good. The atmosphere is great.

Were there any menu restrictions w/the DDP for Coral Reef ??? I'm not sure about the menu & just wanted to make sure we would be able to order anything we wanted. I need to find a copy of the CR menu to look @. Thanks again

I'm not aware of any restrictions, but you can see the menu here .

We went to Coral Reef in September of 2005 when it was 2 TS credits instead of the 1 TS it is now. I think it's a great deal for 1 TS. The atmosphere is unbeatable and the food is anywhere from average to good. Definitely worth the experience once.

coral reef is on the dining plan and is now my favorite resaraunt ever. I do recommend the DDP, we (Me wife and DS6) ran up a $150 tab without drinks. But it was awesome! Great food (save room for dessert!) and you can't beat the view. Lots of fun.

I just cancelled my ADR's for the CR.. due to the fact that i don't have the DDP, so to me, i have heard enough bad reviews to not justify the cost OOP. But, i think - rather i KNOW if i had the DDP, i would go..

The menu is extremely limited, if they had restrictions you'd go hungry. You'll find menus at www.allearsnet.com and also here at the top of the restaurants thread.

For what it's worth we didn't enjoy Coral Reef at all.

We tried CR for the first time this past May due to the DDP. I am glad we tried it. Neat atmosphere, but if you are not one that likes noise, this is not the place for you. Best part of the meal for me was dessert. The chocolate wave! YUM

We enjoy Coral Reef very much. It has a wonderful atmosphere. It is not the largest menu, so be sure and check out that above link to make sure there is something on there you like. Of course, we enjoy a lot of places (San Angel Inn, Chef Mickey's for dinner, Sci Fi to name a few) that get a bad rap. You never know until you try. Also, I would make ADR's for those dates quickly, LTT during EMH in particular can be hard to get and since your dates are during free dining, ADR's for that time frame have been filling up fast.

CR was our best meal this week,we had the FDDP and the food was really good,we ate crab cakes,steak,shrimp cocktail,calamara,salmon and of course the chocalate WAVE I want it now....but again it was FREE
