We were planning on eating at Coral Reef, but it seems like it's getting alot of bad reviews on here. We were really only going because I thought the fish tank would be neat for my DD8. Should we cancel this and go to Big River Grille or keep Coral Reef? We are on the dining plan and the rest of my ADR's are set. What does everyone think? :confused3

We had a good meal at Coral Reef two trips ago (Oct). That fish tank is an attraction for kids ( and it was for me too).
Big River Grill is "fair"--at best.
I'd say keep Coral Reef--.

I made the same decision to try Coral Reef. We got the DDP and they won't get the chance again so I view it as a win win situation. The children get the experience and they can eat chicken strips if they want. I see from the menu that they have steak and if we are not that hungry we will just share a meal. How bad can it be?

Between the two, Coral Reef wins if just for the ambiance alone. I don't care much for Big River and I wasn't extremely pleased with Coral Reef. But it is so relaxing to watch the fish swim by.

I would stick with Coral Reef.

Also, Big River Grille doesn't take ADR's according to my travel agent. I wouldn't want to risk going there and it being packed and nobody can get in, and then you lost your Coral Reef ADR. Since your on the dining plan, you should have ADR's for every place!! :thumbsup2

Have a wonderful trip!! Your kids will love Coral Reef.

We went to Coral Reef when it was 2 table seatings and I didn't feel it was worth that. Now that it's 1 table seating on the dining plan we will be going back. It's very much worth the 1TS...I think your DD will Love the aquarium.

We are a Coral Reef loving family!! We LOVE the Coral Reef! However, we love the atmosphere a WHOLE lot so if the food is not the best ever as long as it is good we LOVE being there. Also the shrimp cocktail app. is GREAT!! I could do nothing but eat two of those app. there and I would be set. They are large and fresh and just perfect! *now I am HUNGRY writing about it*

Enjoy your time at Disney, no matter where you go you will end up smiling!

Thanks everyone, I think I will stick with Coral Reef. And by the way, I'm glad this didn't turn into a "You HAVE to go to Le Cellier" thread. It seems like that's all you hear on this board :rotfl2:

We are going to try Coral Reef during our Nov trip. I've heard both good & bad, and figure we'll try it.

We loved Coral Reef. It was my DD4 & DD7 favorite (including the character meals!) The really liked the kids meal selection and both ended up having fish ... they did a child's portion of the salmon for my DD7. The kids desserts were unique and of couse, the chocolate wave was worth it! Our food esp appetizers were good. The tank experience was wonderful ... we waited for the tankside table and it was worth it.

CR will be on our list for next trip!!!

Have fun!
